we ran a lot of what 3-2 front, with Beckwith lining up outside and pass rushing, and Debo playing MLB.

pretty interesting. Wouldn't have guessed this would be how we played this

Defense played it perfectly, other than when they didn't contain the outside. When they kept him in the pocket, it was lights out all night. Very nice effort on their part.

Steele came out with a great game plan. Of course nobody on this board will give him credit.

I agree with you and the OP. Even though there were a few TT WRs that got behind the secondary...it was a solid defensive game plan and executed well by the team.

Defense was awesome tonight. Steele is probably going to be a fricking star. Literally the only bad parts were incorrect execution. This is not sarcastic.

Seriously, defense is going to be ridiculous next year.

If Coach KKK was so good, he would have adapted by trying to run a little more to prevent us from playing with so much secondary units against their spread.

Yeah the defense did great. TT only had any success Bc of the freak plays made by the QB.

I agree. I think not only is he game to game making adjustments instead of "sticking with a system" he's maximizing the use of his talent. Maybe not the best for the situation, but the best he's got. Works more often than not.

I liked the intentional pressure up the middle. Even when coming around the edge they went for the middle, not outside containment (as in Manziel). Yes, they kept getting to the outside and QB made plays on the run, but he he caused them to cut the field in half, and with the DBs on the field (and fast LB's) it negated the whole point of those WR's which was to use the whole field, vertically and horizontally. Allowed our DBs to make plays (and primarily tackles).

And as of late we've had hell with crossing routes, swap overs, losing the trail, and closing holes especially with R-Kansas. If it wasn't for some really spectacular throws across the body, that any LSU QB would get ripped for, the middle of the field wasn't that open to them.

True. There were a few plays where the DBs just got beat...out of position or whatever but I really enjoyed watching them get after the QB.

They were playing like this in the A&M game.

Same defense we ran against TAMU. Beckwith was basically DE most of that game
