shite, I'd take Matt Driscoll from UNF in a heartbeat over Johnny. Better coach, making probably $250k right now.

Scary thing about davis is that mid major tag. Shaka smart and the guy from Florida Atlantic had much more success and it hasn't translated to the power 5 level of competition. I think we are more safe going with Stansbury. Hire him let him get us to a respectable level of consistant winning then we are in a better position to hire a next level coach.

Well that's just baby steps. Get the right guy NOW!

Wish we could. My fear is Alleva, him hiring anybody scares me to death. Stansbury wants to come and he's a proven commodity. Not that I think Stansbury is a world beater but he recruits louisiana very well and I just don't trust Alleva.

lol Randy Livingston. Are you dumb and blind? Randy is a first year college assistant on one of the worst teams in the history of LSU basketball.
Send us his resume on why in the hell we would want him as head Coach. And please don't tell us because he was a great high school player.....great players don't make great coaches. He's shown me absolutely nothing as an assistant to Johnny Jones.

I've been at the point where anyone would be better. There are at least a dozen high school coaches in the state that would do more with the talent we have than JJ.

He should be our interim coach. He's coached in the nba D-league and won a championship doing it which is more impressive than anything jones has on his resume.

There is nothing left to play for. You don't hire an interim head Coach right now. The season is over. This isn't LSU football 4 games into the season. The tigers will lose in the first round of the sec tourney. Jones will be dismissed along with the entire staff and hopefully LSU will go out and get someone worth mentioning.

Who cares if there's nothing to play for? The reason Alleva fired miles was "we want the players to enjoy the season" so what are we telling the players? That we don't care about them but we do the football players. How's that message going to play with future recruits?

Show me where Joe Alleva said "we fired miles because we wanted the players to enjoy the season". That's humorous at best. Miles was fired because there were meaningful games left to play and quality bowl games left to play for. You're comparing apples to oranges.

We probably could have gotten Buzz last time around, because he wasn't happy at Marquette and was looking around for something else. I think it would be very hard to get him away from Va Tech right now. He is building a pretty solid program and I think he has a built a strong connection with the AD there.
After the JJ tenure, and as bad as the SEC has been, unfortunately, I think we are now forced to look at a level or two below guys like Buzz. This will be a big hire. This hire will either let what's left of the air out of the program, or it could put us back on the road to respectability.
It is definitely long past time for us to stop worrying about the "LSU connections", and I would hope that the JJ hire has finally slayed the Dale/Collis dragon. I love Dale and Collis and all that they have done for LSU Basketball, but we simply cannot let these guys run things anymore.
Like the idea of a Will Wade. The right hire will be someone like that -- a "comer" who is looking to make a name for himself.

If your take is miles got fired early because the administration wanted the kids to have fun then you are what's wrong with America. Again you are comparing apples to oranges.

Miles got fired because he stunk it up the last four years. He didn't get fired because the kids weren't having fun. GTFOH with that. Cmon man.
Posted on 1/22/17 at 8:00 pm to basiletiger
Not my take at all. He was fired because he was finally exposed and he's hard headed. The reason he was fired after the auburn game was so the kids didn't have to suffer for a year after the season goals couldn't be reached. Are you catching on or do I need to explain more? I mean the presidents interview is in the link and the words came straight from his mouth I dunno what els I can do to help you understand the truth. Some of our fans live in a fantasy world so I get the difficulty.

He was fired because there was still an opportunity to have a successful season. Our team is not very good with or without jones this year. Hiring Randy as interim head coach would be just as awful. Take the blinders off.
