Please tell me you've been studying abroad this year and missed this seasons games. And what success are you talking about? If your referring to les's almighty record I really think that has a lot to do with the talent lsu brings in and not necessarily the coaching. Hell all the talent we had last year and we landed in the outback bowl.

First, we need a school to take Miles off our hands. That is Michigan. Hoke is history there and it gives Miles a great excuse to bail on LSU. New HC is Stoops from UK. He would jump at the chance to coach at LSU, and he has the knowledge, skills, and name to be the man here.

I would like to see what he does this year, but so far so good.

People forget about Miles pre LSU. I honestly remember watching the Alamo Bowl and thinking this is the guy LSU hired. Okie St got blasted by Ohio st 33-7.

I think you guys forget about one thing. Recruiting. Still need someone to recruit. We get rid of the coaching staff now, we won't have a good recruiting class now. Not building depth behind this 14 class. Would still put us a few years away. Also, why would any Jr stay if we make a change? I'm not ready to waste one of our best classes we've had at LSU.

The coaches offer the schollies. Not LSU. Without miles and Wilson, fournette is playing for bama.

So you're saying Les Miles and Frank Wilson are the only 2 people on the planet who could have gotten Fournette to LSU.

What about Gus malzahn!? He took an auburn team that won zero conference games a year before to nc appearance with a db playing qb.

Malzahn coached and recruited those kids. We don't have that luxury. It would be starting from scratch.

I there's one thing miles is good at it's recruiting. But just because we hire a new coach doesn't mean the recruiting gets worse. Theres a lot of guys that turn away from lsu now because of their style of offense and the players skill sets work better in the spread. If a new coach brings in a really good record and an explosive offense I can't see our recruiting dropping too far off. That along with the tradition of lsu and the amount of in state talent the recruiting might get better

I want Dana Holgrasen. Dude is good.

I don't think we really have a shot at anyone big, even if we throw the book at them.

No I'm saying they are the two that kept him from playing for saban. Just go look at 2005 when saban left. That class was awful and most likely the result of 2008. We were young because sabans last 2 classes weren't stellar. Those were the srs and jrs on that 08 team.

LSU does not recruit itself. LSU isn't sitting in these kids living rooms. The coaches are. If LSU recruited itself then saban should have had more than 8 players committed before he left.

Dana's not a bad coach but I think he's almost gotten worse over the years. And I agree most of the big names aren't an option

Rt, but this cycle it wouldn't be. Also you may have kids transfer. So basically we would be wasting the 14 class. Then if this staff isn't that good, we could miss out on a loaded 16. So while I agree it may not drop off, it will for at least one cycle, if not much improvement in year one, then 2 cycles.

The new coach would need ties LA. Wilson won't be here. Nola will be raided. In 05 we still had Jimbo. Recruited LA for years. We then had Katrina, so there was no recruiting Nola anyway. And really no Nola until we got Wilson, which was rt about the time LA started getting stacked again.

IF we make the rt hire. That's a pretty big IF. I'm not ready to blow it up with this 14 class. I think Miles deserves time to build on that class. Which is one of the best on paper in the history of the program. These kids have to be here another 2 years. You build depth behind these guys and we could be scary good. And y'all have said Miles does good with exceptional talent.

I agree and there could always be an LA filled assistant coach. Les never had any ties to LA and he did fine.

Morris on the other hand was a glorified high school head coach in Texas with like a 169-38 record which is pretty tough in Texas. Those ties along with a staff of LA assistants like Wilson or Wilson himself, would be pretty solid
