I am not convinced that Harris, who can absolutely sling the ball, will not be under center.

Harris will not be the starting QB unless an injury occurs ahead of him.

BS. Every starter has to, at some point, be a "first year starter".

Taking a couple of series in mop up time, and handling the ball off to the 3rd string running back, does not prepare someone to be a starter in the SEC.

I think our passing game will struggle with a new QB and unproven WRs.

No idea what the defense will bring but I figure it'll be better.

Without knowing what all our opponents will have, I expect 2-3 losses.

I still have hope that rivers has a jump in maturity and becomes the player his brother was at North Carolina State

Well there's no denying AJ could've gotten more playing time and there's no denying that more reps are better for a young player. I mean, that's why these guys practice...for the reps.

Doesn't mean every new QB will struggle and doesn't mean AJ will fail just bc he didn't play much. But to let AJ play a quarter against UAB, let him throw some passes, etc might've been a good thing.

If Hill comes back, the combination of him and LF will be almost unstopable. Would be a best-case scenario to get Jennings real good experience while learning to be a leader for the following year.
I'd say we're definitely at least a playoff team in 2014 if Hill returns.

The only games that worry me are at Auburn, Alabama, and Ole Miss. I almost put A&M before remembering that aweful defense. I seriously think we beat both Bama and Ole Miss at home. That leaves Auburn. 11-1 regular season is not unrealistic even with the question marks at QB, WR, and the DL. The 6-loss talk is nonsense.

2014 LSU Football Schedule
Aug. 30 vs. Wisconsin, Houston, Texas
Sept. 6 Sam Houston State, Baton Rouge
Sept. 13 Louisiana-Monroe, Baton Rouge
Sept. 20 Mississippi State, Baton Rouge
Sept. 27 New Mexico State, Baton Rouge
Oct. 4 at Auburn, Auburn, Ala.
Oct. 11 at Florida, Gainesville, Fla.
Oct. 18 Kentucky, Baton Rouge
Oct. 25 Ole Miss, Baton Rouge
Nov. 1 Open
Nov. 8 Alabama, Baton Rouge
Nov. 15 at Arkansas, Little Rock or Fayetteville, Ark.
Nov. 22 Open
Nov. 27 at Texas A&M, College Station, Texas
Dec. 6 SEC Championship, Atlanta, Ga.

I think the 2014 schedule lays out almost perfectly. Six tough games.

Wisconsin: They were 9-4, and their leading rusher and Sophomore QB return. However, six of their front seven on defense are gone.

Auburn: We play there, and they could return ten on offense. (Will Mason and Robinson leave?)

Florida: 2013 was injury filled with an abysmal offense. However, their new OC Roper could change that. They return their SR QB and nearly their entire defense. We play them in the Swamp after playing at Auburn. They play us after playing at Tennessee.

Ole Miss: They return their QB and nearly all of their defense. We play them in Tiger Stadium after playing Kentucky. They play us after playing Tennessee.

Alabama: New QB, but they might return most of their offense and defense. (C. Kouandjio and Clinton-Dix leave?) We play in Tiger Stadium after both teams have open weeks.

Texas A&M: They lose Manziel, Evans, and Matthews, but return almost everyone else. We play there on T-Day after both teams have open weeks.

Auburn scares me a little but other than that, our schedule looks good

Given that we struggle at Jordan-Hare Stadium even when Auburn sucks, one would be out of their mind to expect to win there. Mark that one as a loss and be surprised when Jeremy Hill leads us to victory.

Best case scenario: The OL gels (the most important part), the new QB plays well, and a WR steps up. The D improves (as they showed against Iowa) and we are solid in the return game. We could go undefeated and win the NC.

Worst case scenario: None of the above happens and we lose games we should easily win. 8-4.

Realistic expectations are between that, and we always seem to lose the easy game with Les Miles as the coach. So I was going to say 12-1, but because of this 11-2.
