Because you have to create reasons to hire O. He doesn't stand on his own. He doesn't have an accomplishment like recruited the first 5 star to a non power 5 school, beat the Pac 12 to death, or won a national title and went 23-1 in conference over three years.

He has won a handful of games with teams that fired their coach and a stint at Ole Miss we are told should only be viewed through the prism of he learned how to not be a historically bad frick up.

from where I sit,
Coach O has done about as well as could be expected.

Jimbo rode Winston for all he could.

LSU players deserve to not have 3 coaches in 3 years
w-out a guarantee that the next one will be a success.

I do not use Ole Miss .. everyone learns .. called experience.

..if all goes well the next games, I would give a 3 year contract .. not 5

I don't get the Jimbo obsession. Especially not like he's some slam dunk hire. There's a bigger bust potential than boom

True or false, Jimbo could have coached this team to victories over these teams?

Missouri 3-7 (1-5)
Southern Miss 5-5 (3-3)
Ole Miss 5-5 (2-4)
Arkansas 6-4 (2-4)

3 horse race with Jimbo, Herman and O. If both Jimbo and Herman pass I feel we are reaching at that point and would support O's hiring fully

I'm not saying you have to be on board with Jimbo, but there is basically nothing you can point to where O compares favorably to Jimbo.

In what world has Jimbo shite the bed?!?!?! Jimbo would be a HUGE upgrade over CEO. HUGE. And when coaches get a new coaching job, especially a coach that's been at a certain school for a long time, they get reinvigorated. So the Jimbo now could be different than a Jimbo at LSU. Jimbo is the guy.

This is true and I have NEVER said O was more qualified than Jimbo... IF we hire Jimbo and he can bring us what we all crave...[A NC] then that's great... BUT YOU among many others that think coach O would be A terrible hire are stupid................

So hire BDP. He was more successful than O at his previous head coaching gig. I'm sure he learned a ton. He has everything O has except he was more successful as a full time head coach.

Mizzou was hot when we shut them down.

Ole Miss still had offense fire power when we played. They got most of there oline injuries during our game.

Arkansas was has been playing good unitl Bama beat them and then it was the game after we lost to Bama.

Quit making it seem as if these wins were give me's.

So you think Jimbo would have been overmatched in those games?

Im not saying that. What Im saying is you are down playing O's wins to prove a point. I think Jimbo would have been able to coach us to wins but how many coaches would have been able to take over this team in mid-season and turn the offense around and keep the team motivated? My guess not many

Jimbo has been quite mediocre outside of the two Jameis Winston years. His teams routinely fail to bring their "A" game and lose to teams they should defeat.Sounds like what we already had with Les Miles.

Also, FSU gets DESTROYED by some of the quality teams that they play. Oregon a couple of years ago, Louisville this year as examples. They gave up an insane number of points in those games. Can you imagine the uproar at LSU if we got the wheels beaten off our wagon like that?

I'm not saying that Ed O is answer, but I don't think Jimbo is either.
