Didn't they both play RB in high school?

Yes.

Devin White was recruited as an RB and was asked to switch to LB his freshman year. It obviously worked out for him. He had the most sideline-to-sideline speed I’ve ever seen from an LSU linebacker. Dude was never “out of a play.”

Probably. Devin White and Barkevious Mingo come to mind.

Perkins is taller than White and will probably be able to carry a bit more weight by the time he graduates, White has a faster 40 time but that may change too.

He has been clocked a little faster than Mingo though but not as big as Mingo.

I also thought about Chad Jones but since he was a safety I figured he was not the best comparison. The Dreadlocks of Doom had closing speed and man could he hit!

Those are probably the best comparisons I can think of for Perkins.

And he may end up being the best of all time.

DW40 and Perkins are clonish……granted Devin was thicker.

Devin was a LOT bigger.

I seem to recall before DW there was Patrick Queen who had close to DW speed.

Queen signed at LSU after DW.

I think Devon played both hbut he was so much bigger than Perkins. That size plus he was just as fast made DW40 a devastating defender.

I cannot comprehend taking him off the field...ever.

Thank GOD he's on KO coverage, why not punt coverage?

Not quite the same, but sometimes it felt like Chad Jones came outta nowhere to sack the QB.

I still remember the Jessica Parker Wilson sack

Devin White could move unnaturally for a big guy. I remember seeing him on the other side of a sideline make an INT on the opposite side of the field. It was insane. Talking about a LB who could move sideline-to-sideline. Debo Jones was also a heat-seeking missile at LSU.

. They say he is actually a better RB than a LB
