Jimbo Fisher--still making other teams look good...

I don't know who else is supposed to be there. OU, Florida, etc. have looked bad at times. People complain about Boise and TCU being that high. And the teams behind us like Michigan aren't any better either.
LSU arguably has the #1 defense and #1 special teams in the country. That keeps us in ANY game. There are serious problems at QB, but if that were to be fixed, we'd be tough to beat.
LSU is 4-0 and has probably played the toughest schedule so far (2 SEC teams and 2 BCS OOC games against teams ranked at the time). Hard not put LSU in the top 10.

ark is better than us......they seem to have a decent defense except for the collapse at the end yesterday......
we will have trouble getting positive yardage on them......no matter how well we hold down mallet....

If LSU has that same collapse to Bama - Miles will be run out of town before midnight.
Who has Arkansas beaten really? A 3 loss UGA team by the skin of their teeth?

Oklahomo moved up? Do the coaches know they edged the bearcats and not the bengals?

Just as Easter mentioned, we are actually #5 in the sagarin poll.
Also if you want include sagarin's computer poll, you might as well include the others that are out.
Billingsley - #5
Colley matrix - #1
And Massey hasn't updated his yet.
The other two polls won't be released until oct.

I do. And if we can get some more production out of the quarterback, we will be a top 3 team.

that is the weakest top 10 i have seen in a while. there just aren't many great or very good teams this year.
Although I beleive this to be correct, doesn't it seem like we have heard this every year for the last decade? It seems like the talking heads every year use the line " there aren't many true contenders this year, It's No.1 team and No.2 team then everyone else is on a lower level."
Just makes me wonder what they use as a reference.

I'm with you, it's just becoming harder and harder to think the coaches and QB will get it together offensively.
Ridley is untamed though.

I've said this from week 2.... If there is any year we do well with the QBs we have it's this year...

we haven't opened up our playbook yet
evidently, we have SOME players that can't comprehend it yet anyway, so they can't go beyond page 10....

me, and a couple dozen coaches.
the D is #1 on the planet.
the special teams is #2 (IMO Florida is #1. best punt coverage, and good at the rest of of it)
Remember this bumper sticker, from that logging truck you were following at 5 AM?
I MAY BE SLOW, BUT I AM AHEAD OF YOU.

It doesn't freaking matter what are ranking is. Luckily we're in the SEC so its win and we're in. Doesn't matter if you don't think we are worthy. GEAUX TIGERS!

I think if you use the "eyeball" test, the toughest team I've seen is probably Ohio State.
Oregon looks good too, but they seem to goof off for a half at a time.
Bama is solid, but lack a quick strike passing attack.
Florida is all over the place, but play decent--they seem to have a legit squad now.
Michigan is nothing but a decent D and a sick athlete at QB.
LSU is dominant in 2 phases and the running game, but Jebus the passing game is neither passing nor a game.
Auburn is another occasional defense with an athlete at QB...but they look competant enough to win alot.
Boise State is efficient, mistake free, but could get run over/pushed around by a serious run game (bama, LSU, Michigan, etc.)
oddest rating, VaTech is #15 in Sagarin's poll

There are six computer programmers involved in 1/3 of the BCS formula. Kenneth Massey is one and he also has LSU in the top 10.
Not just Sagarin.
Not just Sagarin.

I dont know how they did this weekend, but J ville state was in the top 30 last week on Sagarin. He lumps all D-1's together.
So there are some top 5 "AA" 's sprinkled in among the top 40.
