Ranking the top 5 areas of improvement ahead of Vanderbilt matchup, surprisingly I don’t think the secondary makes the top 2, or arguably even the top 3.

1 DB
2 QB
3 LB (cox was terrible against the run, Damone was terrible vs the pass)
4 OT (Interior OL was Amazing)

Easier to list what was good....we punted and kicked it well. Farrell an Gaye look like SEC defensive linemen.

End of list.

Stopped watching as soon as he started talking about the run pass ratio because he's clearly a moron

The reason we had a balanced run pass ratio last year is Burrow pulled it on so many broken plays and made us appear to be more balanced. We were a pass happy team last year.

That ratio was also skewed by us running later in games when they were already put away.

Yeah, I agree with this despite the Clark praise. Dude is a baller, but he has to do more than what he did Saturday. It seemed like he would be all over the inside slot/runningback on those short routes but could never stop a completion, and it took him a while to bring them down after the catch.

Yeah this isn’t true at all. Joe had a lot of designed runs last season, and a carry is a carry. I think you’ll see those carries be distributed amongst the backs because obviously you aren’t asking Myles to take that over.

1. Confusing the opposing QB pre-snap.
2. Making the confusion worse for the opposing QB post-snap.
3. BOTH Brennan and WRs having the SAME reads.
4. Brennan trusting said reads in (3) and making the throw earlier.
5. Identifying likely direction of pressure pre-snap, adjusting line calls accordingly IN CONJUNCTION with QB adjusting pocket movement that isn't counter to those adjustments.

Not true at all lol. We threw when we had favorable looks (Texas, Alabama) and ran when we had favorable looks (Auburn, Florida). Burrow didn't even keep it that many times. LSU just abused DUO and had the same run scheme every play.

I’m more worried about Myles than the DB’s. I think State was kind of the perfect storm. Getting Stingley back will help hugely, and I don’t expect Flott to have that bad of a game again.

Ok well your wrong.

1. Improving on the worst defensive passing performance in the history of the southeastern conference. This is both execution and coaching.

2. Offensive Line missed assignments. Especially Chase Hines. Also Deculus can’t keep getting beat around the edge

3. QB has to be more confident and comfortable. He must trust his eyes and knowledge.

4. WR drops needs to be eliminated.

5. Run the ball out of some other formation besides zone read info the A-gap. Get Emery in space

Go look at the box scores from big games like Auburn, UF, Alabama, Clemson and get back to me. A lot of his runs were on called pass plays. The idea that we were that balanced is a myth. We were pass heavy and the numbers are deceptive because of scrambles and big leads.

I kind of went off what I’m the most worried about getting fixed, and I’m just not worried about the coverage for reasons I mentioned above. I think that game will end up being an outlier.

I think fixing Myles, or fixing the MA’s and just overall poor OL play is much harder than fixing the secondary. Not saying either were worse than the secondary against State, just that’s it going to be an easier fix.

I’m going to be doing some type of video every week (except next week I’ll be on vacation) what do y’all think are some good topics?

Last week I did a “5 Bulldogs to watch” video, last season a few examples are:

“4 Reasons Why LSU will destroy Florida”
“3 things LSU must do to beat Auburn”
“Deep Dive into Clemson’s Defense”
“Why LSU will dominate Georgia”
