The Advocate sports - "It all looked so great for LSU after five innings in Game 1 of its super regional against Florida State on Saturday at Alex Box Stadium. The Tigers scratched single runs in the second through the fifth innings and took a four-run lead before the Seminoles could even manage a hit."

"Not only did the Tigers look like they were cruising to victory, they had to burn through five of their top six or seven bullpen arms in relief of Henry with Todd Peterson, Trent Vietmeier, Devin Fontenot, Zack Hess and Ma’Khail Hilliard."

Fla State coach reacts to the victory - Martin, who has never won a national championship and has probably experienced as much NCAA tournament heartbreak as any coach ever, knows his team isn’t in the College World Series yet.

“We can’t fall in love with ourselves,” Martin said. “We’re playing in front of the loudest fans I’ve ever played in front of in 45 years of coaching.”

We weren’t that loud really

It sounded pretty loud on TV. I remember when the catcher couldn't hear what the coach was saying early on. Only Mississippi State, Arkansas and Ole Miss have anything close to LSU's environment, so their coach just isn't used to that environment. But it didn't bother them enough to lose obviously. LSU really let that one slip away though. They should have been up 5 or 6 to 0 before FSU even scored.

Bet LSU fans are blood-curdling loud today, they're angry. Going to take it out on Fla State.

Are they all really burned? We can’t use any of them?

Thru 5 they allowed 0 hits but you could tell that without timely hitting and walks, it caught up with LSU. 11 walks will keep most teams hanging around. Peterson kept LSU in good shape but again you could feel that with this unpredictable pitching staff, anything could happen. Gotta pitch well today to have a chance.

This is why you bunt. Put pressure on the defense.

Peterson is done for the series. Fontenot, Hess, and Hilliard could probably all throw an inning maybe two if the first inning ends quickly.

They should be taking it out on the coaching staff.

LSU has to find a way to win today against one of the ACC's top pitchers. But it's doable. Then figure out tomorrow.

Peterson is. Hess through more than I would have liked, but he could come back. Everyone except for Peterson could throw again.

Going into the series I was worried about game 1 with a lefty but felt good about Henry on the mound. The injury changed the whole complexion of this series. This whole series is on LM’s back. He needs to bring his best stuff and go at least 7. I hope the bats can come alive today and pull one of those 15-2 games today and we get some back of the rotation people up, but it will likely be on LM to give us a 3-1 victory. Try to save some arms for tomorrow.

He's a righty. They'll get it done.

A lot of pressure on LSU’s freshman pitcher. LSU’s entire season now depends on him and his arm.
