How could they not know what to do with him? The guy made plays for the most part when he was put in. The guy is a dual threat, as far as I can see, as a quarterback. No, they didn't let him pass that much, but the guy can obviously pass. Shepard is a natural playmaker and should be utilized whenever possible.

Miles either means to say that Shep wasn't where they wanted him to be (w/e that means), and couldn't use him the way they wanted, but I think it means this:

They (LSU's coaches) have no idea what to do with him.

Why is it that Miles/Crowton can't find a way to use RS, but Alabama uses true fresman Trent Richardson extensively throughout the season even though he's in the backfield with a Hesiman Trophy winning RB. Good coaches FIND a way to use their talent, regardless of experience.....

If you read more the article says shep came to him and asked to play wr. He was hurt and missed a week of practice due to illness. So yeah shep will not be playin qb even though he practiced there mostly. Wr/ wildcat/ kr. So basically he will play trindons role except for he will obviously get more balls thrown his way. Sucks that they couldnt move him alng more, but i have faith in gonzo being able to turm him into our much needed play maker.

That's pretty easy actually:

Richardson was much more developed physically.

It's simple...Les Miles almost always plays upperclassman no matter whether they're the best or not.

No it can't be that.

I know that in the pictures Richardson appears to be a beast and RS looks like a 10th grade basketball player, but I am sure Miles is and idiot has to be the reason.

There is no reason he can't take snaps at QB and run wildcat type plays. He was there all spring. And I don't mean snap it to him and let him run it up the gut. He doesn't have to know the entire passing offense to throw a pass. They just have to put him in the game and let him run plays that work for him. If he has a problem learning plays, don't make him learn a lot. Make him learn his small package of plays first, then expand it. You work around players like him.

This was my main RS frustration. Let him throw every now and then. The threat of him throwing would open things up and make his runs more effective. Or so it would seem to me.

The Wildcat is dying in the NFL where there is no chance of a throw because the D's are too good. College is different I realize, but adding that possibility of a throw would have been great to see.

Richardson is a different type of back. If Les goes down here at LSU, his "legacy" right up there with winning the NCG in '07 will be forsaking arguably the most talented athlete to come to LSU, ever.

There really isn't any excuses for LSU not getting the ball in RS's hands more often. None. Its absolutely inexcusable. I am not a persistent Miles basher but this is one issue I have major issues with.

If RS transfers, or has a wasted career at LSU Miles will never win the fan base back no matter what he does.

I wish people would STFU with this because its not true and God forbid a recruit reads this nonsense.

Name one freshman that should have started over the other players and didnt.

Yea...and after a few games of film on him the rest of the SEC would pretty much know what was coming every time he stepped on the field.

He pretty much said the same thing about Shep after every game and then promised to use him more in the next one. Miles may have autism IMO.
