Granted its not eye popping or loaded with big name schools, but looking at the teams we play they are for the most part quality teams (except the Southland Conference teams). According to a lot of publications most of all the teams are predicted to finish at or near the top of their conference. This should help more than hurt our RPI come March IF these predictions hold true.

Opponent Predicted Finish
Bowling Green 2nd in MAC
VCU 2nd in A-10
Nicholls St 6th in Southland
UMBC 2nd in America East
Utah St 1st in Mountain West
Rhode Island 4th in A-10
Missouri St 1st in Missouri Valley
UNO 7th in Southland
Northwestern St 12th in Southland
East Tennessee 1st in Southern
USC 7th in Pac-12
Liberty 1st in Atlantic Sun
Texas 4th in Big 12

Wade knows what he is doing with the new quadrant system. I have faith it's the perfect combination of good enough quality opponents combined with our SEC slate, which should be a good conference again.

Sure does. People were blasting his OOC schedule last year too. Look how that turned out.

Liberty is probably the most interesting OOC home game. They were a tournament team last year and upset miss st in the first round I believe. Solid squad

Home nonconference schedule is pretty underwhelming though

Thanks. Interesting that USC looks to not be too good based on conference projection. Hopefully we can give them a good beating on a national stage.
Will be interesting to see how we do at VCU if the crowd there is jacked up for WW returning.

I have no doubt that Wade is setting us up for success, but I wouldn't mind a home game with a Marquette, Xavier, UCONN, Ohio State. You know, like we used to do!

USC and VCU are neutral and away unfortunately.

As with the last two years, people will complain about it being a terrible schedule, but lo and behold, come March we will have an outstanding tourney resume with a slew of quad 1 and 2 wins.

People need to accept that this is our scheduling philosophy. It’s not going to be flashy, but it will result in a strong NET ranking.
