Not trolling or stirring....jus asking..

LSU's season seems to hinge on QB play. Ok, but Bama has won NC with 2 QB's who were 1 year starters (Sims & Coker). How do they win with QB's who have no experience but LSU struggles?

They have a QB friendly offense. We make it difficult on the QB.

understatement of the net for today, other teams don't even have to guess about our play calling

Yeah it's like their starters & depth along both the offensive & defensive lines haven't been a factor the last few seasons. Nope, both programs have been on par with each other the last few seasons in that aspect.

Also 5th year Seniors starters (Sims/Coker) > Sophomore starters (Jennings/Harris)

Those QBs were 5th year seniors so there is that.

Also better Oline play.

They've had NFL defensive fronts, deeper depth and better coaching. Makes it really easy to pound the other team and set up play action.

He sure did. I had forgotten about that. Flynn started the Peach Bowl in 2005 due to JR's injury but I don't think Flynn started many, if any, other games, so Flynn would have been comparable to AL's 5th year senior, one-year starters.

Just goes to show you that we don't need a superstar QB to win games. We need an above average game plan. I am all about smash mouth football when smash mouth football works. I am also all about recognizing that a team with a superior defense can stop smash mouth football and we might want to have a plan b.

Some things never change, when you don't need much or you have barely enough to win a national champion . The breaks in the game, injuries, ref calls a bad game by key players , all can add up to just a bowl game ! Q B s get too much credit win or lose ! This year , more would have to geaux wrong to keep us out this year ! !

Their lines were better on both sides of the ball.

By hiring an offensive coordinator that incorporated a passing game into the offense.

I never said there weren't other factors at play that make Bama a better team. But LSU would not have the same success as Bama has had at the QB position with any first year starter.
