Since red shirting is no more, do the kids that previously red shirted get a 6th year to play their 5 years now?

5 is a good number. Sure there will be outliers like that te that was i cured every year. Someone always gonna get screwed. But life aint fair. Sorry

I thought of the situation on the drive to work this morning. I was just curious about it. I'm sure someone will eventually sue over this to get another year.
