I think better. Lee did a great job early in the season. He was helped by the fact that the O line kept him pretty clean. He got NFL heat in the Bama game and struggled but when others were certain we'd run the ball he did a good job.

There's no reason to believe either of these two can't make the same plays with time to throw. Add to that the ability to make plays on the run and I think we are better.

As long as they dont scramble back and curl to the sideline like JJ i think we are world's better.

Uh, what? UGA not ringing any bells? Lee had one bad half and got pulled for good. JJ got to stink it up many times with no consequences. What games were you guys watching?

My only comment was in reference to this thought process some continue to push on us that one QB shined during in 2011 and one sucked.

Unfortunately, JJ was driving the bus when the wheels fell off on 1-9, so he gets the blame and his season often gets tainted. He wasn't that bad. Some folks simply don't like how JL was treated after the first Bama game and want to state that he was playing better than JJ and should have been allowed to continue leading the team.
They both were good and bad at times.

but Jennings has already won a game for us going into this season.

If you're gonna hang your hat on AJ because of this one win and say he should clearly be starting because of the outcome of the game, I'll have to disagree. Wet field, vanilla game plan......we don't really know how good/bad he is based on this limited body of work. He didn't stink the joint up but wasn't a world beater either. I just hope he had an off day at the spring game because it wasn't pretty and he was clearly outplayed by BH.

What in the actual frick? No one wants to remember the UGA game apparently.

ETA: Congrats to JJ for padding stats against Western Kentucky and the worst Ole Miss team I've ever seen. Other than the Arkansas game, he was fricking terrible against any team with a pulse.

All I meant was after he took over from JL, he somehow managed to win the rest of the games leading up to 1-9. I do remember the UGA game...point taken. But the 3 games prior to UGA he played ok and threw TDs in each of the games (despite the 88 passing yds at MSU)

I agree though that the handling of the JJ/JL situation was an abortion and JJ was given a lot of rope.

He was not the reason we won those games. I'm throwing out WKU and Ole Miss, we didn' need a QB those games. Against Arkansas we needed a spark from TM7 to get going, same thing with UGA. And that UGA game was one of the most frustrating games to watch because of QB play, topped only by the game after it.

JJ was terrible against good competition that year,

I'm not going to disagree here. I believe JL would have easily lead the team to victory leading up to 1/9...our other horses were just that good. And instead of criticizing Lee and saying that Bama had his number, someone (anyone!) should have coached the boy up and implemented a game plan that he could have maybe had some success with in NCG....although no one was going to beat Saban that night.

I really wish we had Cam back then. I think Lee was a good coordinator away from being a special college QB.

Geeees.
Jarrett Lee was more than adequate in 2011.
No one on this board, fanbase , team or coaching staff knows what to expect this season from qb play.

Stupid fricking thread.

Worse. 21 TD's, 5 INT's, 2100 YP in 2011. Plus we had two great, experienced receivers.

What is your current thought on the situation? Will the QB play be better in 2014 than it was in 2011?

It will be better because of the talent and new offensive OL coach as well as a Cam Cameron as offensive coordinator.Gone is "STUD THE DUD."

So you;re going on the record that we will be second in the SEC in passer efficiency?

Absolutely.....I truly believed what happened on 1/9 wouldn't have if CC was running the offense.

You and I have had many disagreements over Miles over the months....this is the crux of it right here for me. The handling of the QB situation that year is what created the chasm between a small segment of the fan base and Miles. I truly believe it gave birth to the "nega-tiger." Right or wrong it is what it is.

I respect Miles as a person and appreciate his maintaining the program at a high level. I just hope he wins another NC before he leaves or some are going to see him as having underachieved given the talent he brought in. 2015 will be the year. That window is getting ready to open and it should be special.

Undoubtedly so....but I was fully in his corner prior to the tail end of that season (despite the fact that I wasn't happy he was hired). I enjoyed all the bravado and quirkiness.....meh....maybe not so much anymore. I still support him.....but for me, he's become more of an amusing enigma than anything else.

Here's to hoping he pulls the right strings over the next 2 years and wins another Naty.

Oh....and as I've stated before, if he pulls it off....I'm signing off of TD forever and just going to be content to bask in the glow!!!!

People really sleep on how well Lee played that year. Outside of the Bama game, the guy was ridiculously efficient.

In his first 8 games that year:
63.2% completion
1250 yards
8.1 yards/attempt
13 TDs
1 INT
157.4 Passer Rating

People really sleep on how well Jefferson played that year. Outside of the Championship games, the guy was ridiculously efficient:

In his first 8 games that year:
64.29% completion
654 yards
9.34 yards/attempt
5 TDs
1 INT
163.48 Passer Rating

That's right. Lee was the "most efficient passer in the SEC"* prior to the championship games, except that Jefferson was even more efficient than Lee. Lee was called the "most efficient passer in the SEC"* prior to the championship games because Lee had enough starts to qualify, and Jefferson did not.

Dont make me post the SECCG game stats for JJ....

Ok, here you go:
C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT QBR
J. Jefferson 5/13 30 2.3 1 0 9.4

CAR YDS AVG TD LG
J. Jefferson 6 -5 -0.8 0 7

A net total of 25 fricking yds. And he managed games well up until the second Bama game? You people are delusional.

Jefferson was hot fricking garbage against everyone but cupcakes and an insanely overrated Arkansas team. He also was not responsible for being the key to victory in any of those games.
