and what adjustments did the coaches make to the penalties and or the increasingly close score line?

Let me answer that for you, NONE

The 'game plan' and 'coaching' was one kick away from losing.

What in the world is wrong with using what you have? BH was clearly not AJ/JJ/JL etc...he made no mistakes the whole game.

Miles apologists, you have nowhere to hide on this one.

If we are Bama, Auburn or UF we win by 20. Play calling was just fine.

Excuse me, but what part of my post was "agenda-extrapolated shite"? You are subtracting information from the discussion by just citing the box score without context.

5.7 ypc and time of possession gives our pass defense a much needed breather.

This wasn't happening in the 4th quarter.

The OP is one of those black and white thinkers. He can't comprehend the scenario of being a run heavy team without being a 77% run/pass heavy team.

He points to YPC as an indicator of winning without recognizing that the very large majority of events that match what LSU did on the ground also had a more balanced passing attack than the 77%.

He hasn't even considered that a more balanced attack may have resulted in a higher YPC average and may have resulted in more offensive plays and even better TOP.

He's lost. You just have to ignore him because he doesn't understand the game. He isn't the first and won't be the last on this site.

The context is 4.7 ypa passing is not a favorable pursuit when rushing for 5.7ypa and playing keepaway from the QB that hurt you last year.
I know your game and had there been sack yds lost it wouln't have been excluded from your "but, but, but" stats.

Well he pretty much nailed you there. The fact of the matter is LSU could be a NC caliber team if Les would allow his playmakers to perform. That game should have never been in doubt.

Yeah, that didn't happen which is why LSU should have tried something a bit different.

This is a ridiculous post. You have to be more balanced to win the SEC and possibly NC. That game plan would have been great - if they had thrown the ball 10 more times at a minimum. You can use the run to set up the pass. A concept Les appears to be competely ignorant of. I really had hopes we'd open it up more. Gonna be a long year. We'll probably still win 8 games but maybe that gets Les fired. One can only hope. I like the man, but his offense ice philosophy is painful.

It's amazing how some of the base fail to recognize something that has plagued LSU throughout Miles' tenure.

Roger, LSU had a favorable TOP which likely would've regressed pursuing an inept passing attack (4.7ypa is like 120th nationally for reference)
I hope the passing game improves also, but no need to pursue at the cost of losing SEC games.

The 4th quarter was horrible.
When the box is stacked, you take a shot or two. MSU dominated 4th quarter stats.

Typical game of "hold on" and hope for a win. Good thing the kick went wide right. Letting your opponents kicker decide a game isn't sound strategy.

So let me get this straight. We are upset because we relied on our strength to win our first game we have played this season, a conference road game no less, to a team that beat us last year. Add to that we started a rookie QB that has yet to win a game in his college career. And based on this one road conference game we now know exactly how our offense is going to play out all season..

Got it.

No,we are upset because he had the opportunity to put them away early but instead chose to let them hang around and almost win.

No, you're upset that nobody cares that you're upset because he had the opportunity to put them away early but instead chose to let them hang around and almost win.

Why don't you look at amount of plays ran instead of time of possession?
