Not against Auburn...and Freak didn't do much. He needs to improve in a hurry.

I rewatched the Auburn game and Freak was getting doubled quite a bit. At least a dozen times if not more.

We've played nothing but goofy arse spread offenses with running qbs.

How hard is this to comprehend?

At this point last year, LSU had created 10 turnovers, and had a +5 turnover margin in just 4 games.

4 of those created turnovers came against Idaho who was 115th in total offense, 123rd in scoring, 120th in rushing, and had the most INTs in the nation. In that game the turnovers came without any sacks or QB hurries.

UGA, Bama, A&M and OM are all capable of scoring at least 30 on LSU's D this year.
No they are not.

We miss Logan and Brockers much more than we miss Mingo and Sam.

And the soft d-line makes it harder to create turnovers.

The line isn't ferocious like last year. Last year, Mingo and Montgomery were coming on every play.

Yeah, and last year, our offense couldn't find it's dick with both hands and a map.

It's getting tiresome, debating you fricking miserable, pessimistic mother-frickers. Were you alive in the 90's? We are a damn good football team. Perfect? No. Can we beat everyone on our schedule if the ball bounces our way? Hell yeah!

Our front 4 are as good as last year, and as good as any in the country. Chill.

How are they not capable? TCU put up 27 and Auburn put up 21.

They aren't exactly shutting teams down...

Freak was on the field almost all of Auburn's 85 snaps and was maybe doubled that many times. And he was pretty much a non-factor.

No to both.

And I'm a big positiger.

I just don't think the D is as good as many are saying. They can be, but they aren't there yet.

I think hunter is going to have a great game on Saturday. And then his stock starts rising. 2 sacks is achievable for him.

The Dline, the blitz skills of the DB's and LB'S, and the cover skills of the DB's and LB's all leverage each other up, or the opposite.

The DT's are doing their job. The DE's are considerably slower than the last 2 years. The blitz packages have not been employed and the players on the field do not possess the scary speed as 2011 for example. The DB's will be strong, but right now are just ok. For the first time in years, we have NO SPECIAL safety (sorry, Loston has a big hat and will get some good plays and turnovers, but pales in comparison to what we have been blessed with the last few years).

It is a collective formula.

Our D can be solid, but it shows no evidence of the needed ingredients to believe it will be special.

Fortunately, it only needs to be solid this year, because our O IS special.

up 21-0 on Auburn, before we broke a sweat, and the stadium empties at half time;

It's kinda hard to maintain intensity. Also, we tried many personnel combinations after half.

Take 2 valium and call me in the morning.

Why would you say "Logan AND Brockers"? Brockers has been gone since the end of 2011. Our starters last year were Logan and Downs. Anyone that doesn't think that this year's tandem of Ego and AJ isn't the equal of Logan and Downs, just isn't watching the games closely enough.

The guy we are REALLY missing is Minter. I underestimated how big a difference not having him would make.

I am curious to see how much better the LB's do this week, since they will be able to play more downhill against GA's offense as opposed to the "read and react" style necessary against spread teams.

What's to say? We were a special teams TD away from drubbing their arse.

If we don't give up that KOR, it's a yawner. That was not a defensive TD.

A kick return TD and a 5 yard TD drive. 259 total yards for TCU. 2 forced fumbles and an interception.

I can understand your criticism of the second half defense against Auburn but against TCU the defense was fine.
