“Pro” Players - Distraction or Diversion?

Anyone else kind of feel like the national debate about the “pro” players and LSU is actually better for the players currently on the roster?
Seems like all of the pressure is being taken off of this highly paid roster with everyone so hyper focused on the potential addition of “pro” players.
The players don’t really seem to have any distractions and no one really focusing on them all that much, giving them the ability to focus on the game vs Clemson.
Without the “pro” player debate, there would be a lot more talk about the money LSU spent to bring some of these players in and the pressure to live up to the expectations that come along with that level of pay, but that all seems to now be flying under the radar.

After CLK's comments yesterday, I actually feel better. Leadership on the team were on board and the coach is willing to take the heat for them. I expect to see a team that is not distracted, but emboldened, to play hard and kick arse.

Curious, if you don’t think being threatened with expulsion from the league, teams boycotting games with you, or being sued in federal court is a distraction, what would be.
For the record I don’t believe any of those will happen but I also don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze. All this for a backup tight end and d-tackle, doesn’t seem worth the drama.

Players don't give a crap about any of this, just fans with weak constitutions.
If you listen to Lane, he knows what he's doing. He is either 1) out in front of adding a new source of contributors or 2) he's going to get this shut down across the board so no one else comes out ahead. Nothing is happening until Thursday and then whatever happens Thursday, LSU is ready to move in whatever direction is required. All the rest of this is just media generated chaos to fuel views and whatever metrics generate money. People really can't see the forest for the trees anymore.

All that is noise, if the team is preparing as they should nothing will matter as soon as that whistle blows. And if they arent preparing as they should, nothing will matter once that whistle blows.
