Well you're an Arky fan, he's not.

The only guy who has worked the count and been patient has been Papierski. It hasn't really worked out because he seems TOO passive.
I prefer hitters who take an aggressive approach. If you over think things in an at bat, it usually doesn't work out well.

You can be aggressive at the plate, but you can also be smart about it at the same time.

Hitting has to be natural. See a quality pitch, react, using muscle memory from having done the same thing thousands of times.
Kinda like shooting free throws.

Yeah... No more Fraley at leadoff
Posted on 3/20/15 at 11:13 am to ell_13
I didn't even realize his average had fallen off so much. He was on fire 2 weeks ago.

I know they don't produce these type of stats at the college level bit I'd be fascinated to know the number of pitches per AB our batters see.

In his first five games as leadoff hitter, Fraley was hitting .429 (9-for-21) with 3 doubles, 2 triples, 2 stolen bases, 5 runs scored and 5 RBIs.
Then Mainieri said this and he hasn't been the same since:

Way to go PM...
Leaving Fraley at leadoff at this point would be delusional!!!
