Pretty sure this now cements LSU will NOT start #1 in AP.........

Not that it matters of course, but would have been kind of nice to be the unanimous #1 team to start the season for once.
I'm not sure we were going to be #1 anyway, and Bama would have jumped us after week 1 anyway, but this will definitely tip the media in favor of USC or Bama IMOFWIWGFY.

The top 3 teams were only going to be separated by 10 points or so.
You really don't think losing a Heisman contender will change a couple of votes for voters who may have been torn between 3 pretty equal teams??
I'm saying we'll be 3 now, not 10 you clowns.

I was looking forward to running the table at #1, like Florida State did in 1999. They too lost a national championship game the year before. It can still happen. We are bigger than one cornerback/punt returner, awesome though he was.

Rankings don't mean shite until the start of bowl season, and only if you are #1 or #2.

Herbstreit just said live on Sportscenter that he had LSU winning the national title, but this is now a "MAJOR MAJOR blow" to their chances and he will move them down in his rankings accordingly.
Not saying I agree, and I am very confident we'll be able to overcome this loss, but this will absolutely change our preseason rankings.
Again, not saying we'll drop 10 spots, but I think we will definitely not be #1, more like #3.

A lot of the votes had already been submitted so LSU might, but yea I doubt many people who haven't voted yet will put LSU #1. Not that it matters at all.

TM7 is a good player, but as I said last year that his arrogance will costs us... it has.
For the drama oriented people, FYI,
There are 10 other players on the field.
No doubt that this is a big lost, but that does not mean that it will even cost one game.... too many other factors.
It may / It may not...it is all riding on how the replacement plays.
Better now than after the SEC schedule starts.
