One of the rare posts on the Rant that did not lower my IQ.

Although painful memories at times reading your post this is a good recap. Thanks.

Yes, I read it all too, and your spot on as I see it. Thanks for the research time and effort. It
is an interesting way to look back at concerns vs.
outcome of the tigers. I suppose the big question and concern now for our fanbase, is how will this curfew violation/fight will affect how our team can perform on the field minus players and the stigma it can possibly have on the teams
focus and goals. I hope they can go forward and make the negatives of this into a positive.

dude...that was some good shite! I can't believe I read the whole thing! I just couldn't stop. "Alright, I'm stopping after 2007! NOPE, gotta read more!" I had forgotten about the whole blocked kick ordeal against AU in 2004...we HAVE really had some bad luck with the Refs at Auburnt in the past.
And, I love how you conveniently left out the Ole Miss debaucle in '09...no need to draw that story out again
EXCITED FOR THIS YEAR NOW!!!!!!
KEEP POSTING!

Wow, Doc, that's a hefty analysis. Les had a chance to win over the entire fan base, but he lost that in 2006. Then, 2007 was such an emotional roller coaster, that few fans could enjoy it. With the surprising exception of our bowl games, the rule under Les Miles is gut-wrenching emotionally exhausting games (win or lose). More often than not, Les doesn't "win in style" and you don't get style points for backing into the national championship game.

I'm not even an LSU fan and I found this an entertaining read. Nice job.

Doc Fenton is much better than Peter Finney. Finney hasn't written an article since 06 worth reading.
frick, Peter Finney would have known that in 2006 LSU DIDN'T LOSE 9-10, WE LOST 3-7. YOU SHOULD BE SHOT FOR CONFUSING THE REF GAME WITH THE PAT GAME.
Here is what really happen in 06 at Auburn. Jamarcus Russell and the Tigers offense where a shell over their true self on this day as they wouldn't utilize the downfield passing game until it was too late. In one of the hardest hitting SEC games of the last 10 years, LSU would have the ball in J-Rock's hands with enough time life for him to work his magic once again. A pass to Early Doucet down the seam was interrupted by what would obviously have been a pass interference call on any other day except this day in Auburn. The flag would be picked up off the ground, a meeting held, and the flag waved off because the defender in front of the ball 20 yards downfield touched it.
How could you frick that up? And how could NO ONE MISS THIS?
And you guys are congratulating him like he wrote the next chapter in the bible or something. Decent synopsis with a few errors, nothing more; nothing less.
He also fricks up last years Auburn game............it was 24-17. LSU was tied with the national champs on the road with 6:53 secs left with Jarrett Lee in the game. In one of the worst 4 plays series in 2010, we gave the ball right back and Onterio McCaleb would take it 70+yards to bring the other Tiger's rushing total to over 400.

A good read - wasn't gonna bother reading all of it, but glad I did. So a couple of facts are screwed up, big deal! All-in-all, it was good stuff.

That this happened after a 9-10 loss at Auburn in 2004 from a bizarre PAT call didn't help matters one bit.

Respect!
Thanks for taking the time and effort to share your writing talents.
But why stop there? Go ahead and write out 2011 now in that same manner - would be fun to read now and compare as the season unfolds....

Exceedingly well-conceived and well written, sir. However, I do you believe your ideological leanings are in evidence.
