depending on how late you metro back. If you metro back after the LSU game you'll be fine. I believe the last train leaves around 1am to head back. Even if the trains aren't running, you'll still be able to get to your car and exit the station so no worry there.
It is also a good opportunity to sober up a bit before getting in the car.

Nah, that's pretty spot on. Heading north on I-95 from Richmond to DC on any Friday afternoon can easily take 3 hours, and the back roads aren't that much better. There always seems to be slow-downs around Quantico and Woodbridge before even getting close to DC. Coming back to Richmond should be a breeze.
Use Google Maps or Waze to watch for alternate routes. One time the quickest way for me to get to Alexandria from Richmond was to exit at Fredericksburg, drive over the Dahlgren bridge into Maryland, and then drive through National Harbor. This normally wouldn't make any sense but that's the way it was.
I second the idea of taking the Metro in. I've taken it in from near my buddy's place at the Van Dorn station into DC and it's easy peasy.
Agree. I have taken some weird routes based upon DC traffic. The only thing you can guarantee is that there will be traffic - can't really guarantee where it will be.

Whats the Friday commute time to DC from BWI leaving around 4? I would metro but based on flight arrival the first metro would be about 40 minutes later. Would an uber end up being about the same commute time even if its more expensive? One gets me to my hotel by the arena one gets me to union station where I need to take another uber to my hotel.

Id recommend checking Billyjacks, Jimmy Madisons or Magnolias tacos for food. Cool places with character and good food.
Night moves, Finnigans cove (cigs inside) or Brickhouse Tavern will have the college ladies if youre looking for that

Driving back to DC today from Richmond. Stop at the same metro station and go from there?
