Detroit, they need a potential lock down corner desperately

Just wondering, do you think you could work somewhere for 25 plus years and not make any mistakes?

I am not really trying to knight for Kiper here, but I feel like he just gets a bad rap for a few big frickups that everyone remembers. Of course no one will bring up when he was right about prospects.

With that said, people get way too concerned with what he says. If he does suck, then it doesn't matter what he says anyway.

This reminds me of the Sedrick Ellis/Glenn Dorsey debate. Just because you don't watch Nebraska games doesn't mean Prince isn't a stud because he is. Now I'd still take Peterson but this isn't as outlandish as LSU homers think.

Prince Amukamara (Neb. CB) as the #1

Look who the kid has to guard in comparison to the offenses/athletes LSU faces week after week in the #1 conference in football!

It's not even close who is better in college right now. Prince may "look" better when he plays, but that's because our third corner could blanket the guys he has to shut down.

PP shuts down AJ Green, J Jones, etc!

His strength, vertical, speed, and skillset will place him about anyone else, much less db's in the draft.

O now it's this debate, only good players come from the SEC. Go checkout the Pro Bowl, good players come from everywhere.

OK, I hate to put a halt to everything and be Corky about this, but WTF does that mean? I have no reference to what an epsilon is in terms of measurement. I know it is a letter in the Greek alphabet.

It is a mathematical reference. Epsilon is a small positive infinitesimal quantity whose limit is usually taken as epsilon->0.

I was implying that if Prince were better that difference is very small and might be converging to zero.

The outsiders are looking at only CB skills and maybe Prince is equal to or an epsilon better at that.

+1

I got pounded on this board for daring to say Prince may be better

No, I'm saying his draft scores will be off the charts and the level of talent PP has to guard each week is higher week after week than Prince's opposition.

I really don't think any of those points are debatable.

I never said only SEC has good players nor did I say a thing about the pro bowl. Last I checked we were comparing college players!!

But, I'll do you a biggie. I'll bet you (NAME YOUR PRICE) right now that PP goes higher in the draft than Prince! (assuming both are healthy and come out together)

You want to argue or do you want to just go away and realize your a dipshit for even bringing that crap up.

frick Kiper. Before the season started he didn't even have PP in his top 25 players

That was Todd McShay who had him outside the top 25 breh

No debate here

This is the SEC produces the best players argument; it doesn't hold water. Once you get to the NFL it's about your skills, not the guys you went up against.

Mel Kiper is an NFL analyst. We are talking about how college players translate to the NFL. You could put Denard Robinson in a Heisman conversation but don't put him anywhere near the top 20 QB list for the draft.

You must not have seen my previous post. I said I'd still take Peterson. I'm just trying to convey that this debate isn't as absurd as you think it is.

The interesting thing will be his weight though, which may make NFL teams think he would be better suited to playing safety. In that case the Nebraska CB would be the #1 CB, but PP would still be drafted above him as a safety in the 5-10 range.

frick that. Every NFL team in the league is dying to have a guy like PP at corner. These days there are too many Andre/Calvin/Chad Johnson types who are 6'4" 225 and run a 4.4. . I dont care how good at the position you are, if you're 5'10 190, these type of receiver WILL beat you. PP on the other hand.. he is THE answer.

Maybe I just have a man-crush.. only time will tell. Barring injury, I'd be more surprised if PP didn't make it in the NFL hall of fame than if he did.

i Havent seen the other guys in question, but pp is one of the best all around olayers i have seen.

That being said, i still think nevis had a much better game defensively than PP last week.

Kiper last year had Devon Snead #1 QB at start of season, also had Brady Quinn as #1 QB his Sr. season. Early in his career, did a much better job of evaluating talent; now just kinda wings it it seems, without really doing the work necessary.

His rankings way overrated IMHO.

Again, its not saying the SEC produces "better" players. LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY>>>>The SEC has MORE talent across the board. Not saying a great SEC player is better than a great Big 10 player, I'm saying that player in the SEC faces more talent on a week to week basis than another conference.
