I have one question.
Your QB was so highly praised as being a running threat, yet he only ran the ball, I believe only once. What was up with that? I was worried about containing him because we have had trouble in the past with mobile QB's. He almost made our D line's job easy for them.

Yeah, he is a pretty big running threat. I noticed the same as well. I'm not really sure to be honest with you. Last season he would keep the ball some on zone reads, but I only remember him getting like a 9 yard carry this game. I'm not sure. Maybe the coaches said screw it, we aren't having any success rushing the ball and we better air it out.

Agree awesome analysis. I find it very easy to watch that game and say LSU is head and shoulders above Oregon and I still think LSU is a bit better than Oregon but not so much that I wouldn't think we could be beat by Oregon.

Here is something that you probably don't know which could make us even better. Lee.

The worst part of Lee's game yesterday was his passing accuracy. That has never been his downfall. All his interceptions in the past are basically passes that go exactly where he wants them to go but just should never have been thrown.

So in the future I expect or WR's to do a better job of catching... that I think was a one time thing with the drops and I expect JLee to go back to having a much more accurate arm than he showed yesterday. Then LSU would be scary good on offense and defense.

I think all of us Oregon fans are wondering the same thing today....I think the game plan got scaled back once Chip saw how fast your Beastfence was and was not willing to have our QB take a pounding in the first game. We have unprove backups and the PAC 12 to win still. So I would think that is big kudos to your defense.

Great post! I was very impressed with your defense. Ware earned his yards the hard way and Ford came in after the battering ram had done his job. Other than your freshman defensive back, your D was solid. Darron Thomas played his rear end off and might be the best QB we will face this year. I think that you will run the rest of your schedule, but from my experience of watching football. The game after playing LSU is the hardest, because your team will still be sore.

Great post Kid. Sure I speak for many when I say we usually could care less about the PAC-12 (soon to be 16) but I think we have our west coast team.
Take care of USC - big time!

Classy post and great analysis. I was worried Montgomery might have that "mental" infringement due to his injury, but he looks to be playing at an even higher level than he was last year before his injury. Dude is a monster.

Here's to Oregon winning out and having and injury free and great season

That's kind of what I was thinking. The game was starting to get out of hand in the second half and we had to catch up - quickly. I really don't think Thomas keeping the ball or rushing the ball would have made that much of a difference too. LSU's defensive line was getting some much pressure and penetration on our offensive line, it would have been damn near impossible for him to do anything remotely productive rushing the ball. Why risk an injury when we still have a lot we can accomplish this season. Win the Pac 12 and we're back in a BCS Bowl.
