I posted a few months back about my upcoming trip and everyone was extremely helpful. I got my parking pass in the mail yesterday and I'm in #407 at the corner of Skip Bertman and River Road.

I'm on the LSU site and it says that after the game, traffic going south is directed on Nicholson Drive or River Road. My AirBnb is just off of Highland Road, a few miles SE of campus. Am I correct to assume there's no way to get to Highland after the game? Based on the parking map diagram is looks like there is no access onto Bertman from my lot and I have to get onto River Road going south. Will I be able to hang a left (east) onto Brightside and make my way over to Burbank and/or Highland? Or will I have ot take River Road all the way down to L'Auberge then come back up?

On a separate note, since I have a pass for that lot do I have anything to worry about once I arrive? What I mean is do I need ot get there at daybreak for any reason or am I good to just get there whenever? I want to get there as early as possible but my wife is with me so I'm sure it'll be mid-morning til we can do that.

It is going to take you longer to get their than it should but you are are just going to have to turn on Brightside Drive from River Road to get over to highland. Honestly, it is a 2:30 game, so take your time, go eat dinner somewhere north of campus or something and head to your AirB&B after traffic mostly clears out.

Edit: Seriously, go find something to do before you go back to your car as you will probably spend as much as you would eating a very long dinner as you would be in the car trying to get there. Alternatively, sell your parking pass and park on the correct side of the contraflow :)

Well it's not exactly "on" highland. I don't wanna give the lady's address but it's in this general area with the red circle:

wouldn't everythign walking distance from the stadium be packed to the gills? I'm perfectly happy stopping at a restaurant somehwere between our parking spot and the airbnb as well, if there is anythign along river road or whatever route I'll be on that you'd recommend.

You can get there whenever you want. That pass guarantees you a spot in the lot. The later you wait potentially the more traffic/time it takes to get it, but you can't lose your spot

Going down river road to the casino, then taking Gardere up will be your best bet.

that's what I figured. Does traffic flow pretty good south on river road after a game? How many lanes is it?

I know it's absolutely impossible to predict but any kind of ballpark guess on how long to get from the corner of bertman/river road down to the casino?

And on that note, what about stopping at the casino? Do a ton of people do that after games?

It'll be hairy between the lot and Brightside. Between Brightside and L'auberge, it will be moving. If you dont want to hit up any of the eateries around campus (Chimes, Walkons, etc) then I'd suggest grabbing a bite at the Casino and hanging out for a bit as trying to get across Nicholson and Burbank will be cumbersome. Traffic sucks for a couple of hours

That's not strictly true. Either due to overselling or people taking up too much space, it's possible for the lot to be full if you get there very late. In that case they direct you to an overflow lot. You will have a space, but it may or may not be near where you expected. It's only happened to me a couple of times, but it does happen.

Usually everyone gathers at the quad to assemble trash pickup teams.

The game will end close to 6. You’re better off hanging around a tailgate and watching an evening game while traffic dies down.

There isn't much along that route to eat and it will be just as packed as around campus. Around campus will be packed to the gills but you know you need to burn time anyway. I think you would be best off selling your parking pass and finding somewhere better to park. If you plan to arrive super early, you can park for free around Parker which sends you back exactly the way you want to go.

You'll be forced to go south on River Road.

Don't know if you can turn left at Brightside, but you can at Gardere or Bluebonnet.

What time are you getting to campus? There are free lots at the intersection of Nicholson and Burbank (one is next to Walk On's and the other one is across the street from it.) If you could park there for free, you could try to sell the pass.

Both of these lots allow you to turn south on Burbank and getting to your AirBnB shouldn't take longer than 30 or 45 minutes depending on how soon after the game you get to your car.

I used to live 6 number blocks south of WalkOn's and when I used my parking pass, I would get home in 15 minutes.
