I think this is how most of their fans feel.

RE: Assault in Purple lot?
somebody in student government get a card started at the mountainlair for this guy (if everything happened this way) and get 20000 sigs, then pass it around Mountaineer Field Saturday...and start a collection for any additional med. bills....lets let people know a few bad apples do not make a state

I would be impressed if they pulled that off

I agree. Most on this board seem to have had a great time with the West Virginia fans. Hopefully whoever did this will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

As I said in the other thread, this would be an awesome gesture and go a long way towards improving the image of real WVU fans.

This would be classic!
I hate that something like this happened. It was probably some ridge-runner that did not even attend the WVU...and now makes eveyone affiliated with the school look bad.

A Battery like this could occur at any sporting event. Several years ago, I got into a minor altercation right outside of Tiger Stadium with one of our overly drunk fans. He was an 18-22 year old douche bag that was just looking to start shite. Anyway, before it could get too out of hand a cop came up and cuffed the drunk fricker and I went on my way to the game. (I know CSB)
I repeat it can happen anywhere and it is usually some young, drunk, punk looking for trouble. I hope they find the assholes that did this and charge them with 2nd degree battery, this seems to be the trend lately

I would forever respect WVU fans if they actually did this.

True. But the other part cannot and does not "happen anywhere."
I can promise you that neither I nor most people that I know would sit on their arse in a traffic jam and watch a pregnant woman battered and others jerked from their vehicle and beaten.
Never. Will. Happen.

I have seen plenty of fights between LSU fans and others walking out of Tiger Stadium
We are not immune to this type of behavior in our fan base.

This wasn't a fight. That being said, I agree with WVU fans in saying that there are "bad apples" everywhere.

Agreed. That's a classy thing for them to do.

This is why I don't go to away games any more. I will never forget as a kid after the Alabama Game in Tuscolousa when a group of kids followed me and my Dad to the car the whole way yelling at us. When we got to the car my Dad (who is 6-4 270 played Football at Tennessee) put me in the car closed the door looked at these 4 college kids and said "who wants to go first and they fukn ran like pansies. Then when I was 24 me and 4 other guys got jumped by a fukn heard in Gainsville and got the ever living shite beat out of us and I am no small guy buy any means. Its sad because I would really like to take my wife to an away game but I know somebody will say the wrong thing and I WILL snap. I have been arrested twice for assault and battery, resisting a police officer and assault on a police officer. Trouble always follows me.

Wouldn't surprise me if something gets rolling on this. When UConn's Jasper Howard was killed the week before they played WVU, the fans gave UConn a standing ovation and hung this banner outside of the UConn tunnel. It's signed by the students and faculty.

I said it pre-game and I will say it now. Despite some issues during the game, the bulk of WVU fans are good people.
