You could also make a case for a 1 loss ND team if the loss was to a good team and close. For some weird arse reason, the country loves ND when they are relevant. It would be closer than people think. People down here underestimate the amount of hate the country has for the SEC.
This. I just have the feeling that a 1 loss ND or 1 loss USC team will be in the National Championship game.

Again...look at the computer polls....they are way to low to make that big of a jump. Especially if Notre Dame loses and Oregon loses. LSU and Bama would secure high rankings along with Florida and KSU (if they do not lose). Even if KSU loses..they would stay in the top 5 maybe drop to 6.

USC is 16th in computers...They will not win enough high quality opponents to help them in the computers to maintain a top 2 ranking.
But even with this, they are hanging around at #9. If they beat a #4 Oregon team, and a #5 ND team, they will be in the picture.

Even after LSU beating a #1 BAMA and a #1 Florida. And with KSU possibly undefeated or with a 1 loss Bama/Florida team. You are nuts.
ETA: oh and USC would have to play Oregon twice. Oregon will not lose twice to USC just like Oregon will not beat USC twice.

Nothing is out of the question with the BCS. K-State will be the odd team out.

you realize by the time we get to a SEC championship Florida will be ranked #1 in both human polls and in EVERY computer poll. with a loss to a LSU team that will be around 3-4th will not drop them below 2-3 (2 if KSU loses, 3 if KSU remains undefeated). Just like last year.

Nor will it this year.

I think if you see ND, KState, and Oregon lose one, FL and LSU win out, that going into the SEC CG you realistically could have SEC #1-3 (FL/LSU/Bama).
This scenario gets even weirder after the SEC championship though!
It could result in a best of 3 scenario if LSU beats FL and FL only falls to #2 (they'd be 12-1 same as LSU and 1-1 VS LSU), it could be a rematch repeat between LSU-Bama if FL falls to 3, and if FL wins it could result in Bama again making the BCSCG without winning the West.
I think the only way to avoid it would be if the 1 loss Oregon team jumped to #2 after Pac-12 CG, since KState and ND don't have championship games.

I was just thinking and I realized that if LSU beats Bama (I think we have a good chance at that), we will easily jump 1-2 spots. That would put Florida at #1, KSU #2 Oregon #3 LSU #4 Bama #5 (possible Bama 4, LSU 5).
Not no, but fuk no.

I was leaving room for error...I think that would be STUPID...but human polls never cease to surprise me

Not seeing how this would cause an ESPN meltdown. The Entertainment Sports Programming Network is in the entertainment business, has a business relationship with the SEC and doesn't care who wins or loses. It cares that people watch so it can make money. The meltdown everywhere else would create a buzz and boost ratings, and people would tune in to see the arguments ("you take this side, I'll take that side"), and ESPN would love it.

So Holtz and the other retards on ESPN would agree? They would be in full meltdown saying so and so deserves a shot. WE don't want a boring game again...bla bla bla. I would love it. But the rest of the nation would not.

Exactly. But they'd keep watching ESPN to watch the "fireworks."
