went to bed in the 3rd inning. Too damn late.

For a whining bitch like you, this is completely predictable.

I never lost the faith but the way the offense has looked at times the last month, it was in the back of my mind that we wouldn’t score enough. Thankfully my intrusive thoughts were wrong.

5-1 was nothing in CBB

I don't think those saying it was over did so because they thought a 4 run lead in the 2nd inning was too much to overcome.

Most were referencing the pitching staff falling apart (Cohen), facing the fact that Evans needed to completely shut it down and go deep due to the offense having lots of trouble scoring runs.

All of that was legit as we know. The game was always in doubt until the 9th.

Those who assumed LSU would win in the 2nd inning just happened to be right. That game was close and very much in doubt.

There were certainly reasons for concern given the level of inconsistency shown by this team this year, but also reasons for hope given the teams’ track record at home and the strength of the opponent. The thought was there that the lack of pitching depth and tendency for the offense to disappear at times had finally caught up with them. On the other hand, one need only look to the ups and downs in the Tennessee series to know that this team can never be counted out at home no matter how bad they might look in the moment.

I had my concerns about Evans given his shaky start and less stellar recent appearances, but it became clear pretty quickly that he was going to be able to dominate this team. The only question was whether he would be able to give them enough innings to turn it over to Eyanson. Leaving the bases loaded again in the 3rd certainly added to the stress level, but Frey coming through in the 4th really alleviated that fear.

TL/DR: There was legitimate causes for concern, but absolutely no reason to give up hope. Anyone suggesting 100% faith or 100% despair was out of step with reality.

Sun night I was feeling like I really wish we didn't have to play another game because anything can happen, while at the same time believing we couldn't lose two in a row to UALR.
Then all day Monday I got more and more nervous. Felt better seeing the lineup changes.
Then 5-1, Cowan only getting 4 outs I still thought we had a chance but we needed Evans to do something the past 8 pitchers to take the mound couldn't do and that's do what he's done all year. And he did. Once you could tell he was ON, then I thought it was only a matter of time. Once LSU knew we could hold them to 5-7 runs our offense woke up

On here? Of those that posted, 90% were hopeless and overall I would guess at least half considered it was over, but were smart enough not to run their mouth about it
