Recent LSU news regarding Smith and Emery along with the game in Florida but no point spread movement. Thoughts on why?

LSU still has plenty despite the loss of these two players?

FSU despite their hupe are actually over hyped?

A hurricane is hitting the state of Florida and you think they have the advantage.

Why would you think the 3rd string at best running back would change the line?

How much value do you think Vegas puts on one player?

It's not much.

Depends on the player and position. Starting QB out would absolutely change the line. End of the rotation RB? Not so much.

Because they are not QBs. QBs are typically the only position that moves a line in football. I think Calvin Johnson once did when he was with the Lions, but that is about it.

Lol. What if it were Daniels, they would put a lot of value on that.

Emery wasn’t playing a snap anyway. He’s number 5 or 6 in depth chart.

Mason smith is a big loss. But won’t change spread

A lot it just depends on the position. Like if burrow would have been out a game, the point spread would’ve changed in that game

The game was always in Florida.

Emery was never going to be a factor

Any movement regarding Smith woulda happened after the reports of bad ankle.

There is a very high chance Vegas knew Smith wasn’t playing when they set that line. They have the connections to know that information way before we do.

Only QBs move the line.

No shite. But outside of QB, individual players don't move the line much, if at all.

Cam Rising is Utah's best player and the line vs. Florida was Utah -9 when it opened several months ago. Now that it looks like Rising won't play, it's Utah -4.5. So a starting QB and best player is only worth about 5.5-6 points.

A defensive lineman and back-up RB is worth about zero as far as Vegas is concerned.

Usually. I think Perkins or maybe Campbell being out would move it a little, though. Maybe not automatically, like Vegas hears the news and immediately moves it. But the news would probably have money coming in for FSU and they’d be forced to move the line to adjust. But on the whole, you’re probably right. Only the starting QB being ruled out would see a significant move.

Hasn’t smith barely even practiced? He wasn’t going to play a ton even if he wasn’t suspended
