Please do your job, Alleva.

Like the overwhelming majority who take the time to post here regularly, I'm passionate about LSU football. We can argue about whether or not that passion is appropriate or healthy in a grown man, but it remains a vital component of my character. And like all the others who have been annointed by that tumultuous enthusiasm, I'm prone to fret and worry about the future of a program that has given me so many moments of joy and comraderie. No one wants to sink back into the listless grey fog of irrelevance.
Unfortunately, no amount of analysis, invective, or soliloquizing by the faithful here will alter the course of the coaching search. For better or worse, the fate of LSU football lies in the hands of Joe Alleva.
So please do your job, Alleva. Perform a thorough and expansive search, evaluate all of the promising candidates, ignore the political meddlers and beauracratic dilettantes, tout the myriad strengths of the opportunity, be rational, be bold, be cunning, be decisive. We can't do it for you. You are a professional. You are a paid a significant sum of money for moments exactly like this one. Please bring home an excellent coach who can win championships. This is your legacy.

The question is who do we get? Herman's out and Fisher's out.

I thought Fisher was top of the list and almost a sure thing. What happened??

Fisher is still in play

He apparently re-affirmed his commitment to FSU. Whatever that is worth.

I guess this is part of my point. Alleva should have access to resources and intelligence that vastly exceeds what we fans can get. I don't know precisely who is available. I don't know if Herman and Jimbo are still in play. But he should. He has to. And in this case, he has to perform and earn his salary by enticing the best candidate to BR.

He should be on the phone daily with Herman, Jimbo & Chip Kelly

Art Briles, Dave Aranda

Very good write up. I want what is best for LSU as well. However, I have zero confidence in Joe Alleva making the right hire unless a gift falls from heaven (Saban Return which will not happen). I truly believe Alleva screwed this coaching search up last November when the stakes were so high for the coming season. I see our program as top notch but I do not see a top notch coach wanting to deal with the scum bag Alleva. Call me crazy but Alleva is the devil in disguise.

I think he's right about Fisher.

Hope not. A lot of unsubstantiated rumors on either side.
