Oregon was #3, Miss ST was #25 and West Virginia should be somewhere around #16-18 if they dont lose to Gary Crowton this weekend. All on the road with one neutral site. Impressive? Yes

That alone should earn LSU the #1 ranking. No other team has or will do what LSU has or will do in September.

I'd like to see Oklahoma lose tomorrow and fall out of the National Championship picture, at least for right now. I don't like Stoops, Jimbo doesn't bother me as much.

Could be a very impressive month, esp. since it was "common knowledge" that LSU couldn't make it out of September undefeated (speaking of National Media and other teams fans)

No doubt, we should be #1 now, but... i would rather stay 3-5, as long as we are #1 in Jan.!!

Right now rankings really don't matter. It will end up working itself out. If LSU goes into Bama undefeated and wins then they will not be lower than #2 and does it matter if, by the end of the year, we are #1 or #2? Both gets us in the NC game..

We have a tough schedule, no doubt, but you can make the argument that it doesnt seem as strong now as it did going into the season.. Either way, as I said. It will all work out in the end.

Rankings matter little right now because we play Bama later on, but there is no reason we shouldn't jump them this week.

How many rated teams has bama played yet they are still rated #2 I guess they don't play La. Monroe this year.

This is why preseason rankings are dumb. If LSU goes to WVU and wins they will have beaten 3 ranked teams in 4 games, and none were at home. Most teams won't play 3 road games against ranked teams all year.

But I can almost guarantee that if Bama and OU both are still undefeated they'll both still be ahead of LSU.
