Name me one that has lived up to the hype and is a key contributor this year or last year?

why are you limiting development only to high school players and only those recruited and signed by Jay and only players he's coached at LSU? Especially in the world of NIL and the portal. To try to make a disingenuous point?

Just looking back on those lists again, when you look at the 2020, 2021, and 2022 classes combined, we got 1 (one) middle infielder that contributed anything at all. Jordan Thompson.

It’s really just Neal and Kling.

Jared Jones looks better than last year.
Ethan Frey looks better.

That class was pitcher heavy and Noot and Shores are out with TJ still.

Herring is a major contributor.
Guidry is important too.

I also think he doesn’t fairly get credit for improving guys like Beloso.

Yea he has scrambled to find a SS for the last two off seasons. Finally landed on Braswell but if you remember lost a few transfers to the draft

You are talking the 2022 class.

I am talking 2021, your would-be juniors

Skenes and white were developed long before lsu; why you think Jay wanted them.

Mercenaries, like they should be at school with lsu tradition.

Baseball gets 45 fall team practice days and less in spring prior to season starting. Fall ball consists of scrimmages to see which players rise up and which ones don’t.

Come spring decisions are made; kids are processed and some are at their new juco acting like big man on campus arriving via lsu.

Point is…there is no time for development at lsu nor any mid major. It’s show what you can do or peace out.

Ps unless your “raw” like cam Johnson or
moffit; then you hope they throw enough bullpens to figure out their shite

I meant in general why we’re talking about player development.

I agree with you 100% about the 2021 class. there just isn’t anyone there to develop.

So White is not noticeably better at playing 3rd base this year?
