I think you’re backwards there. In this theory when it reads 0 there’s actually 0.9 seconds left? Makes no sense. When it reads 1 second there 1 second left, not almost 2. If you’re right, Miles would’ve won the Auburn game in 2016.

Good point here. The more I think about it you are correct. The only point there is actually one full second showing on the clock is the instant it changes from 2 to 1, any moment after that is actually less than 1 second. So if that play STARTED with less than 1 second, it is physically impossible to hike and spike the ball. The only possible conclusion is the clock did not start at the snap.

Does any of this change the illegal formation they were in? Some people bad mouth ref on every call not in their favor and some assholes just Iike to play devils advocate and justify a bad call. Doesn’t matter how much time was left or if he made the first down. The last play was illegal and should have ended the game

like basketball has done, maybe football needs to go to a clock that also shows tenths of a second when it's under 1 minute on the clock!!!!

Out of all the crazy shite that happened in the game this play just doesn't add up. A running clock with a snap at 1 second...

So basically from now on you can spike the ball, have it reviewed (basically free time-out), and have no time run off the clock.
