What would be your solution? We have 1 hood starter, a couple mediocre guys, and some bullpen arms that have been ok to bad.

That sounds terribly irresponsible for a coach to do that to a pitcher. These are college kids, not professionals.
I'd rather lose this game than mess up a kids arm for life.
Coach did what he thought was the best option to win this game throwing a bunch of guys, it may work, it may not, but 4 runs was never going to win this game today with teh pitchers we have left.
