Gotta be smart about when to shoot all of your bullets. He was very smart about it last weekend, letting guys ride a bit to keep some fresh ammo in the chamber. He has blown up the pen before, though.

Yes he has. I really hope he realized he needs to let some guys work through things at times even if they give up 2-3 runs. Learn how to limit the damage and let the offense make up for it.

For sure. Letting Hilliard go last weekend, when he could've pulled him at least a few batters sooner, was huge. They stung him a few times after he was in too long, but it made a big impact on the rest of the game and weekend that he was able to keep it reasonable.

Auburn has three starters that are batting over .400 in SEC play. One guy is .450+.

Yea, man, when he hits em, he hits em. He's gained like 80 pounds in 3 years. That can't be healthy.

can't wait to see Cooper pitch to that guy.

Half their team played with McManus at Samford last season it seems.

You can only do that when you have a lead and shouldn’t leave him in there too long if it’s close. You got to know your pitches. When Hilliard goes south he goes south. Other pitchers can maybe get it back together.

I would do a whole lotta not pitching to him

The rotation should be
Thur: Score
Fri: 29
Sat: Runs
Like last weekend
Thur: Score
Fri: 29
Sat: Runs
Like last weekend

maybe he will bunt and they can race to 1b?

From what he said on the monday show, when he went out to visit Collins after a couple walks on Friday he told him "You're finishing this game. You can do it with a lot of runs, or not a lot of runs. But you're finishing this game."
I know I keep going back to this, but Collins eating those innings were huge for the weekend. But Jay mentioning that conversation in the coach's show lets us know that he knew it was huge in the moment and that it was part of an overall plan.

Coleman would probably be a weekend starter if he were healthy.
yep, and he's basically gone for next year too... I'm trying to get Dan to take my other lefty that could be a sunday starter for next year, he's better than coleman, but he doesn't throw 94 so apparently he's dog shite... so sick and tired of the "radar gun" being everything. SOB knows how to pitch...
