No...it is NOT time for a change.
This whole Nike bullshite is the brainchild of Phil Knight and we don't need an athletic shoe guy changing our traditions to look like Oregon!

hated them. auburn wit white helmets, white pants. couldnt tell the diff.
our whites and yellow helmets are the best in college football. wouldnt be lsu without them.

An experienced marketing guy taught me that to build a valuable brand you've got to avoid the temptation to redesign everything year after year.
Companies with the most valuable brands make small, incremental changes or none at all. See the famous Coke vs. Pepsi example below.
As cuddly as Toonces may look on your kid's tee shirt, I think it dilutes the LSU brand because it's nothing like the "real" tiger on the helmet.
And while the Pro Combat uniforms look fine, they're not LSU purple and gold in color. So in my opinion they're not good for the brand.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I liked them. Don't get me wrong - I'm all for "tradition" - but these uniforms were a refreshing change and something a little different.

I liked the way the stripes around the should went all the way around like in the old days. Also if you look here at the ghost Tiger stripes on the Helmets you barely can see them I would like to see what that would look like on the Gold Helmets.
If you look at the neck in the center I like that little purple piece with the Tiger Face in it also. The numbers are a little to bold but they did look good. JMHO!

I actually feel the opposite way. I HATED these gloves. If it would have been OUR eye of the tiger and not some knock off generic eye, they would have been cool then. And the purple underarm stain I disliked.
Other than that, these are still 2nd to the 2009 pro combats IMO.

tradition trumps fads...I've yet to see bama, socal, psu, ohiost or mich wear that garbage. frick nike....keep our uni's and get the nite games back.
