Look at RG3

The system works pretty well with both athletic passers and and True dual threats.

RG3 is not a great QB

Pure system QB and amazing athlete.

But let’s do thatX who gives a shot if we have a system QB.

That’s the NFLs problem.

Why?

According to some the offensive recruits coming in this year are revolutionary game changers.

ohhhh okay so you just don't understand who RG3 is. I'll save you the google search:

RG3 won the heisman, was a very high draft pick, and was AWESOME in the NFL up until he tore his ACL like 50 times. So, yeah. RG3 was REAL frickin good, had a cannon for an arm, and had a very high football IQ.

Now, let's NOT assume that our guy Peter Parrish can be all that. He seems like a solid player, but for the love of god don't make him out to be a Heisman caliber QB.

ETA: It's worth noting that I DO think kendall + Parrish would be pretty damn good, just not RG3 good.

If you can’t play QB after an Knee injury you probably were more of an athlete than QB.

Also my main point was that it works with true Dual threat passers too.

Read options.

Lots of RPOs become just zone read options in certain coveragesz

RG3 made Tua look like Brandon Harris.

He was doing everything Tua is doing and then some with a fraction of the talent around him.

Well just how old do you think RG3 was when he was in college?

This is exactly what we need to happen.

Y’all really need to stop comparing Parish to RG3. He was a world class sprinter and had a great, accurate deep ball. Y’all are literally comparing a kid that’s a fringe 3/4* recruit to a heisman winner.

Maybe Parish is the next RG3 but those are very low odds.

Bryce Petty could scoot. Man scored 14 RUSHING TDs in 2013

It’s definitely system yards.

I think Brennan is comparably athletic to Petty.

When you think about how they space the field andnplays like the read option basically leave the QB unaccounted for, good athleticism can go a long way.

Brennan isn’t RG III or Cam but he isn’t Mett or Ryan Mallott either.

4.87 NFL combine 40 yard dash aint bad for a QB

Brennan is listed at 4.99 but those are probably high school figures which are usually WAY off. Certainly has not shown anything here of being even an Etling/Burrow level runner

Also brennan is still a twig, you dont want him running at all

It’s not

But Petty isn’t Cam or RG III.

Just like Brennan isn’t slow either but he isn’t what most would call a true Dual threat. I dont Think either is scrambling for a million yards, but design a play that puts them in space with yards in front of them and they’ll get more than Mettenberher would.
