After Saturday's loss, it was the perfect storm for MSU to whip us the way they did.
-terrible officiating mixed with our own stupid mistakes. The touchdown that was called back was clearly a terrible call. There was one sequences that I had to rewind because it blew my mind. Ellington drops back, our TE gets held while running into the ref, our LT gets brought down to the ground by his face mask, and nothing was called.
-our D-line was thin Pickens due to injuries
-our O-line is just not good and really hasn't been good sense 2011, with the exception of the 2013 season.
-we DO have a young team, 2/3 of our team is Fresh and Soph
-MSU was hyped for this game and played above their level
-Dan mullen is not a terrible coach and seized the moment

I attribute the loss mainly to our line play. We just got blasted in the trenches. Really no exscuse for the O-line. They just got man handled.

I was listening to Moscona, and he said something that was interesting to me.

Saturday was an outlier result. if we play that game 1,000 times, we only lose by 30 about 10 times. It's not an excuse, because we did lose by 30. However, football is the sport where you get the least amount of data points on teams. State is better than us, but they aren't near 30 points better than us, in my opinion.

The rest of this month will be interesting. I want to see how we look against Syracuse and Troy, and also how many snaps Brennan gets.

Penalties we the number one reason they lost. If you are beating yourself how are you going to win?

If our oline cant handle Moo State then it cant handle any SEC team.

Oh, and Im gonna go ahead and say it. Canada's offense isnt anything special.

LSU should never ever ever ever ever ever ever lose to Miss St. by 30 points. Lose every now and then yes, but never by 30.

Some good points. Dan Mullen punked our defense on several calls.
Sorry but not buying this "team is young" excuse though.

Officiating was fricking terrible… The phantom pass interference call that cost the opening touchdown to Chark may and I stress "may" have altered the course of the game... but at the end of the day, Mississippi State dominated in the trenches and the team seemed to quit.

Unless they happen to be the better team? Dan Mullen's Miss St teams are not the Miss St. teams of old. They are well coached and every 3 years or so he gets experienced guys and they do solid. Heck, he had them ranked #1 just 3 years ago. When did LSU ever play Miss St. ranked #1 before Dan Mullen?

So you're admitting LSU has an inferior coach. Because Miss st sure as hell doesn't have better talent.

Right now it's the mean, median and mode in SEC play.

If you consider the circumstances, Coach O has a lot to prove. But there were so many factors that played into this loss than just Mullen being a better coach. My main point was that Mullen is proabbly the best coach Miss St has ever had.
