Speed kills.

Just ask Ohio State.

to be honest, fla will have to win based off of their speed. their o line is awful. theyre undersized and cant match up with our size man for man. the problem is that their receivers are some of the fastest (if not the fastest) in the nation, and our secondary has been suspect thus far. i expect tebow to be doing alot of rollouts, running from the rush to get the ball to harvin, demps, rainey. and theyre obviously very dangerous playmakers. very interesting match up to me.

TH is very fast but your coach also doesn't use him much. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he is more of a track star playing football than the other way around.

Our offensive line hasn't exactly been very good this season, but part of that is due to injuries, and we are getting healthier and should have 4 guys back for the LSU game.

He wants us to think he will be less than 100% for the game. Totally trying to mind trick Les and the boys.

how dare you! TH is clearly a football player first with tremendous speed as a nice plus! </coachspeak>

yeah, basically you are right. His hands are like stone so he is useless at receiving and (IMO) catching punts.

he should be relegated to kickoff returns and end arounds.

I thought about that, as well.

This very well could be a tactic to get the LSU players and coaches to think he is hurt and even if they prepare as if he will play it still messes with the players minds, no matter how hard they try not to let it.

But if he is in a boot like you say, I don't think he is lying about it.

then we agree..it is not speed alone that kills

Definitely not.

I actually wish we were a bit slower on defense and actually had a big defensive line that could stop the run consistently and some guys that knew how to wrap up and make tackles more consistently.

You don't really mean that.

I would sacrifice a little speed on defense for more size and better tacklers and players with better instinct, etc.

That would simply be what a player from the 80's or 90's looked like. This type defensive player has been left behind. Now you gotta be 6'5 320 lbs AND can run. You can teach guys to tackle but you can't teach speed.

I sincerely hope that the SEC East doesn't send Vanderbilt to the SECCG. That would be like us sending Ole Miss.

Well a lot of our defensive linemen are undersized. That's my point.

Whenever you're ready to look at everything he says and not part of it...

He's saying that, because Florida has an abundance of speed and a need to match up in terms of size and tackling, he'd be willing to take a little speed from the D-line in exchange for size.

You can't teach speed, sure...but you can't teach size either, and THAT is what he's trying to point out.

I would think the two guys who are looking annoyed (Kotter & Co.) must've been pretty chirpy when it was 10-0.

Nonsense. tOSU fans are never 'chirpy,' or 'mouthy,' or 'obnoxious.' Not counting my first 20 posts on Tigerdroppings.com last December, of course.

i think his point about wanting a slower D is that CUM has said several times that his goal is to have the fastest team in the country. Well, at some point that means you may wind up with relatively smallish guys on the DL.
