I saw it yesterday. I'm pretty sure it was on LSUSports.net on Ensminger's bio page. I think one of the records was the most offense in an SEC game for the Mizzou game. Two were rushing yardage. I cant' remember what the other one was about.

None of this matters..... Those records were set against crappy defenses under O and SE.... They get bashed on... Yet if SOMEHOW those records were set while Miles was still the coach all the Miles lovers would be going nuts................

It was LSUSports.net
quote:

Ensminger was elevated to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach on Sept. 25, 2016 and his impact over the final eight games of the season was remarkable. Before Ensminger took over play-calling duties, LSU's offense had scored only nine touchdowns and was averaging 18 points and 339.5 total yards per game.

In eight games under Ensminger, LSU improved drastically in every offensive category as the Tigers averaged 32 points and 464.9 total yards per contest during that span. LSU scored 38 or more points five times under Ensminger, including 54 in a win over Texas A&M and 38 against both Arkansas and Ole Miss. The Tigers averaged 7.1 yards per play and converted 46-of-102 third-down opportunities during that eight-game stretch.

Also under Ensminger, LSU's offense set school records for yards in a SEC game (634 vs. Missouri), single-game rushing yards by an individual (284 by Leonard Fournette vs. Ole Miss, 285 by Derrius Guice vs. Texas A&M), longest run from scrimmage (96 yards by Derrius Guice vs. Arkansas) and time of possession (42:33 vs. Missouri).

https://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=204895615

If you consider Fournette's record and then a new record when Guice broke LF7's it would be five records he was a part of.

Cam Cameron's offense had just set the SEC single game record the year before and he was fired. Lets not act like it was some long standing record. How did Ensminger's offense perform against competent defenses? If the dive was shut down by a defense that was slightly better than a high school defense, then few points were scored. Oh that is right, it wasn't Ensminger's offense against Alabama and Florida. He only called his plays against Missouri, when the records were set. Ensminger was a shite hire and I am looking forward to all of the stupid arse excuses next season.

What’s his connection to coach O. It has to be something because he doesn’t hire people unless he knows them personally or has coached with them previously

Les' offenses and qbs have set records, Les is 1 of 2 coaches to finish AP#1, Les has the best single season record in history of program.

He got fired and is still shite on by the fans.

Very well. The only defense that LSU did not do very well against was Alabama. There were quite a few teams who didn't do very good against Bama.

Slightly better than a high school defense. Is this meant to be funny or are you being serious?

Yeah, don't look at the box-score for the UF game. LSU had 423 yards. If you think that is bad, you are an idiot.

quote:

No he set five records. I think only two were against Missouri. The most offense against an SEC team - 634 yards and time of possession. The rest were against other teams.

This was said by someone who's opinion on anything football means a whole hell of a lot more than your high school level bravado.

quote:

Aranda called Ensminger “crafty.” Ensminger replaces Matt Canada in leading LSU’s offense, a unit that’s expected to morph into a pass-leaning West Coast-style attack with a group of talented receivers and sophomore quarterback Myles Brennan, the prohibitive favorite to win the starting job.

“I remember when I first got here,” Aranda said. “First game was Wisconsin. I’d be pulled into offensive staff meetings. I always singled out Steve. When he’d talk, it was always well thought out. I’d go ‘That’s right.’

“He’d see things and he’d give really good suggestions,” Aranda continued. “I knew who was in that meeting, but I didn’t know backgrounds. But hearing him talk and the way his mind worked, I singled him out.”

Agree with you totally. How do we know if someone is a good hire or not before they even start the job??? People can certainly be skeptical but they don’t KNOW anything until it plays out

Don't need a box score to understand that they only scored 10 points and Lost. His offense did not score points against the only two decent SEC defenses that he faced. He is a one trick pony and he won't have elite running backs this year.

His offense looked fine against Missouri, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss. These defenses were well below average. When a guy has a long history of failure, then he should have zero room for error. The Alabama and UF games were all of the "Error" that I needed to see.

Miles has so many team/season records, I've never really paid attention to individual or single game records.
