he never would have made it as a full time qb at LSU, however i wish les would have put together a wildcat package for him, like uf did for percy harvin.

It's easy to believe. If Shep was good he'd have played QB.

This should be good. A bobby hebert and Shep fight all in one thread.

He averaged 50% career completion in highschool fwiw.

And, after coming to LSU, he dropped to 20%... sounds about right for our QB development during this time period...

50% isnt good for a guy who was a #1 player.

I bet Shep could step on a basketball court, a baseball diamond, a golf course, a tennis court, a bowling lane, or any other athletic facility and be pretty good.

Mo Isom begs to differ.

NO Deke! I mean No. You see Shelard couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, no.

No. No way in hell is Russell Shelard even considered a quarta back for LSU. No.

Why didn't they try him at CB. He has the athleticism and the problem many DBs have: he can't catch!

he tweeted about this a few weeks ago.

this staff cannot add a wrinkle with shep that is well beyond their scope.

IMO Shep is the type of player you build your offense around to fit his strength. Tommy Tuberville actually said this while calling the UAA game
Shep combined with a great offensive coach like Meyer, Holgersen, Chip Kelly, Kevin Sumlin, etc, etc..would have been a big problem for opposing defenses.

Boo hoo the kid couldnt get it done. Thats all this is.

This. He was never inserted at QB because he was worse than the others we had.

That's right, worse than JJ, JL, ZM.... even Rivers.

Let that set in for a while rantards.

if he was such this great player, who btw didnt have much better passing stats than claiborne, ware, magee, or ruben randle, he would have made the switch with ease just like these guys.

Id have to look back, but id bet randle is a better qb than shep. Spencer ware was taking snaps at qb before shepard and i wouldnt be surprised if it came down to a fsu type deal and one of the wrs had to play qb, randle would be a better option.

our offense with Jefferson was basically a permanent wildcat.

I remember being excited to see him play that hs all star game then watching him throw and thinking he would never be a qb. I also remember Loston hitting him hard out of bounds.

Don't follow twitter. What did he say about playing cb. Seems like the perfect position for him. I am guessing he wasn't interested.
