We did back into the game

Maybe you do not know what "backing into a game" means

We were 7 and made it up to 2 in the BCS

IN ONE WEEKEND

thats not making Miles looked very smart. The vest is very overrated as a gameday football coach

This doesn't change the fact that Les Miles is a dumbass

You mean like what happened with Paul Manieri and baseball?

And then let me finish that sentence: and then we win the SEC and a national title with players that are from other states around the country against the Louisiana players that bolted to Ole Miss and Alabama.

When we needed 2 teams to lose that was highly unlikely to happen.

And then on top of that, put us ahead of UGA in the final game even though UGA was already ranked ahead of us and they were also playing games in a much more impressive fashion at that point in the season.

SO WHAT! Apparently the voters and the unbiased computers thought we deserved the spot over all the more "deserving" and better coached teams.

Ok, new rule! If you don't start the season 1 or 2 in the polls and run the table you have backed into a national championship. Now lets see how many teams in the past deserved to be champion.

LSU was the best team in 2007 and the most deserving. No doubt, no argument. Winning a crystal football is always an achievement and I am proud of it. That said, it was not a great season. The Kentucky loss was one thing, but the Arkansas loss marred an otherwise great season. That doesn't change the fact that LSU was the best team in 2007, but having Arkansas players, on your home field, playing with those purple and gold chains and mocking the program did not sit well with me as a fan.

Ok that's just dumb. Some of you have the inability to remove the purple and gold glasses and think outside the purple and gold box for just one second.

Again, the rest of the world thought LSU was extremely lucky to get into the game vs Ohio State after the 2007 season. For the 1,000 or so of you assholes that think otherwise, just realize you have your backs against the wall and it's you vs the rest of the college football world on this topic.

So in review:
1,000 LSU homers with inability to think objectively vs tens of millions of others

thats not what he is saying. Regardless what you people think, we did back into the title. All we had to do was beat an unranked arkansas and win the sec and we were in. We shite the bad against arkansas and we beat tenn in the sec championship. That put us in the sugar bowl. So we are ranked #7 in the bcs and west virginia loses. We moved up to #2 in one weekend. If you can't admit that we backed into it than you're just in denial. Now we were the best team in the country that year, don't get me wrong. Also our body of work, we deserved to play in it after it was all said and done. We beat the acc and big 10 champion by a landslide. Still, 20 years from now it'll say 07 champs LSU, NOT Lsu champ with an asterik

And Texas and Alabama were both 1-2 plays away from dropping 2 games this season so lose the attitude Paul, any team is lucky to make it to the NC game. Or unlucky, in the case of Cincinnati or TCU.

I don't think anyone is arguing the fact that we had some help to get into the game we deserved to be in, I believe the perception here is that you think LSU didn't deserve to be in the game at all.

And when we mention that Les Miles out coached the Vest we are suddenly accosted by some that belittle this feat by saying the Vest was over rated.

LSU deserved to be in the game, regardless of how it worked out. And crushed the undisputed (by computer rankings, polls and national pundits) number one team in the nation to earn the crystal.

wouldn't any other team that season been "extremely lucky" as well to play ohio state? did we not need help in 03 to back into the championship game?

Every NC gets lucky. You can't argue LSU didn't get extremely lucky (probably the most of any NC in the BCS' 10+ years, in all honesty), but that's just the way college football works. You could argue LSU got very unlucky in 2006, too. Goes both ways.

we may have backed into the game, but not the title...as far as the other losses are concerned, BFD, you play out the season and see who's left standing. IMO, this was one case where the voters truly evaluated the season to create a proper ranking, vs. requiring teams to "bubble" their way up the rankings.

LSU was the most deserving team AND backed into the BCSCG. Both are not only possible, they're true.

If LSU beats unranked Arkansas in the last regular season game, the backing in part is removed. Instead, LSU needed everyone else to finish with 2 losses which LSU had no control over.

It did happen and when looking at the season as a whole, LSU deserved to be in the BCSCG.

Seems like you guys are arguing just to argue.
