Good stuff.

Joe P knew the details and passed it over. Career will now end tarnished like Woody Hayes.

JOPA holding press on his lawn and rallying the students at this time is about as classless a move I have ever seen. JOPA needs to go away and thank Gd he was not indicted.

thanks for sharing your story man. penn state, jopa, the fans, etc. have impressed me for a long time and i respect the hell out of them; so much that when we lost to them in orlando it didn't sting much at all (other than i lost a bet). i'm on their side; yes any official that covered up should be punished but this does not alter my strong pro feelings for that university. also, it is my understanding that paterno reported appropriately to his boss and i think his boss covered this up, not him.

AND when nothing came of it, JOPA did not do shite. When the police never contacted anyone, JOPA did not do shite. JOPA's hands are dirty as hell in this. He is at best morally bankrupt and at worst a criminal for not reporting. I have no sympathy for anyone at PSU, including the students who rallied last night. If I was a victim's parent, Id go postal starting with JOPA first. Give me a break.

JOPA reporting to his boss is a fricking cop out. He knew this shite was swept under the rug and let it ride to protect the program over the safety of children. It is sick and JOPA is a POS. Sandusky was working out on campus recently as last week.

Good riddance. I disliked him before this for his refusal to step down when he clearly is not an elite coach. He is arrogant and his rally yesterday was evidence of this. He disgusts me. I hope PSU gets the hammer dropped on them. JOPA is a disgrace to PSU, college football, and higher education. Id love to see him go to prison.

Penn State fans do not deserve to be judged or ridiculed over the actions for their universities sick, perverse and criminally corrupt administration. Simpathy is not something I am willing to afford any of them. We are witnessing the worst of out society unfold before our eyes, All our sympathy and compassion should be focused on the victims of these horriblly unthinkable and inhuman acts.

I pray Every person from Jopa to the janitors that had any knowledge of these acts and did not report this to law enforcement be tried and convicted for felony criminal conspiracy charges.

It is amazing the fallout that will come as a result of this... Jerry Sandusky will be responsible for ruining several people's careers, including the nearly half century long reign of Joe Paterno, the lives of countless children, the reputation and standing of a prominent university and a major charity organization, all of the childrens' families, his family, the extended families of all, and probably lots of other things I cant even think of...

What an incredible douche bag.
No. Actually, they are responsible for their own actions, not Sandusky. They did not report the incident to the authorities, and then they lied under oath in an attempt to cover up the failure to report the crime. That is on them.

It seems that it's still to be determined where Paterno is in this mess. I HOPE he did not do anything illegal.

The law is different in Louisiana and Florida, probably the states in between as well " any educator, teacher, social worker, doctor anybody who suspects child abuse must themselves report their suspicions to Child Welfare or the Police", there is none of this SUPERVISOR CRAP, Chain of command, what bull shite

Anybody who needs a law in place to make them do the right thing is disgusting. A law isn't what is needed here, it's a person to be a responsible human being, use the common sense God gave them and simply do the right damn thing. Any person or group of people who support those who support child molestation are just as guilty.

I do believe in two things..."Innocent until proven guilty" but also "Where there is smoke, there is fire."

Let the legal process take it's course but if Paterno and the rest of those guys are found to have had knowledge of this and refused to do anything about it then I hope they all get raped in prison multiple times and hopefully all those students who are rallying to support him will rally again saying they were idiots to support such trash.

On another note, did I hear Deke and Bobby last night right? That the NCAA doesn't want to get involved? That this is out of their jurisdiction?

Sad to say but Joe Pa is going to be fired very soon! I just hope they give him a respectful exit plan/strategy.

On the one side I feel terrible for this icon/legend of college football. Going out like Butch Davis did at North Carolina was bad enough. This would be devastating for his legacy. Truth is that's all we have as humans when we've passed on from this world. His legacy will be forever tarnished. Such is life.

On the other more sleazy and despicable side of life there really is no excuse for Paterno and Penn State's behaviour. Loyalty is one thing but ignoring criminal behaviour is another. Sometimes the choices we don't make are the ones that come back to haunt us. He's been living with this for almost 10 years! WTF? That's messed up IMO. We all have our skeletons in the closet.....

Penn State really has no choice in this matter. They need a change for recruiting if nothing else. Who wants to go to a school that ignores child molestation? It's a very, very sad end for Paterno. We all make choices in life and his decision to do nothing after the report is inexcusable for a man of such influence. It's a very, vey sad day for Penn State and college athletics in general.

May we all learn from this!

More proof the NCAA itself is a joke. They have no time to worry about some sick and evil old bastard screwing kids when there are boosters out on the prowl paying for $25 meals and iphones for recruits. Thank goodness the feds are involved now; there will be no way that they will be able to hide the facts. At the end of the day it will be sickening to find out how many people knew something was going on and turned a blind eye. Any knowledge of these acts with a lack of action is just as bad as committing the crime itself. Absolutely nothing can atone for the vile acts upon these children. We can only hope justice is swift and unmerciful. These guys all deserve an unhealthy dose of prison justice and a lifetime of misery.

without doubt....as the facts and accusations continue to snow ball it is obvious to me that sandusky wasn't the only participant with character issues.
just frickn' brutal how agenda denial can trump doing the honest, decent thing. a million altar boys can attest to that.

Obviously... I meant that he was the catalyst. He destroyed a lot of lives, I think that is clear.

Agree... again, just trying to point out how destructive this one guy is... although many will suffer from their own complacency and inaction, Sandusky is still the catalyst behind a LOT of ruined lives as well as tarnishing the name of a major university and charity organization.

Sandusky the definition of a despicable human being.
