As a matter of principle we should not let a non conference champion in over a conference champ. Doing so will weaken conference schedules in the long run.
as a matter of principle we should put the 4 best teams in

Think of this, if LSU had run the table after firing Miles, we would have been in the exact same position as PSU.

We would have had 2 losses, but won the SEC and beat Bama. Yet we would have had 1 more loss than Bama.

I think most of us assumed we would get in over them since we would have won the conference, but this proves we would have been left out and Bama would be in over us.

In this instance, we would have gotten in, but so would have Alabama - and we would be seeded lower than them

Ohio State is probably the only team who can possibly beat Bama!!!

Exactly!!! If not 8 then expand to 6 teams. 4 is not enough and somebody always gets screwed.

If you want to call it a playoff then Penn St should be in. Otherwise it's the same as what we always had - a popularity contest. Personally I don't think that there should be 2 teams from the same conference get in.

So if Penn State had 4 OOC losses and was 9-4, they should go ahead of a 1 loss Ohio State?

Yes because that was the stated guidelines given before the season began.

That didn't affect Clemson

Clemson only lost one game.
