because zone is much easier to play?

Never said it was

I wouldn’t classify it as “easier” but could have your inexperienced players in better position in zone.

If you’re getting burned by underneath crossing routes, then zone may be the best play instead of getting picked by crossing Routes or inexperienced players not getting the jam at the line and trailing the WR.

I’m not saying just play zone, but the lack of adjustments was troubling. If you’re gonna blitz run Man with single high, you better have the CBs to lock them down...if not.....

That's the one thing he does not have. He better be recruiting some great players.

For whatever reason the defense looks slow as shite. Seems like a combination of lesser talent and poor effort.

I know for a fact Pelini has forgotten more than I know about football. But if zone coverage didn’t cross his mind when our DB’s are clearly gassed we aren’t doing something right. Makes me feel like he wasn’t comfortable with his installs yet. How can we not be capable of playing some type of cover 3 at the highest level of college football?

I’ll also acknowledge that the D played a full game worth of snaps before half cause the offense had zero rhythm, and moxy at home against an inferior defense. This is just as concerning.

He is one of the highest paid coordinators in the country and refused to make adjustments at halftime.

He doesn't deserve time after that. An absolute joke.

I can remember fans saying same thing about Aranda, no adjustments etc and he was paid immensely also.

Eh. We also gave up over 400 yards to Florida and over 500 yards to Texas last year. And almost 400 yds to vandy. Aranda was great but his defenses struggled to put together a complete game. It wasn’t really until atm last year that the defense dominated from start to finish.

Well then I'm not surprised that you're defending the garbage we were fed on Saturday.

I support Bo, but this "Aranda didn't have 'elite' defenses" line is b.s.

Name one year the defense was half as good 2011, because that is what elite looks like.

dont remember any of Arandas defenses being "Elite"
did you watch last year from Texas a&m to the end of the year. That was elite. Beating down offenses like Oklahoma and Clemson was pretty damn elite

Man is fine. Press coverage is the issue. You can run man without press coverage.

SOo 2/3 of what we just gave up to State?

Away game also against a team not named State.

Regardless of this attempted gotcha, Aranda made adjustments. How'd UF look in the second half?

Do you not remember what happened to Aranda’s D in 2017 against miss state?

You're right. Aranda was just terrible.

He was a transfer that came with the coach he somewhat knew the offense already.

Costello came from Stanford (where they do NOT run an air raid). Leach from Wazzu.
