Peterson is a bettr version of Jenkins with the saints. Not a true shutdown cover corner but a great athlete who can cover and will be switched to safety eventually, probably after a season or two at corner.

In the right defense I could easily see PP7 playing safety and controlling the field like an Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu.

I saw Deion play and PP is a better football player at this point in his career than Deion was. Deion had weaknesses (weak tackler); PP has none such.

Ok. whatever. Like I have said before. when QB's don't even want to throw to PP's side of the field, I will change my tune. Until then its not even cose.

Duke - how would Deion have ever intercepted a pass if that was the case?

Deion's career is becoming like a fish story.

Deion isn't just a HOFer. Deion was the best cornerback ever. EVER. I would love to see PP match that but it's quite a tall order.

HA. You are mising my point. Deion has WAY more football speed than PP. He is/was able to cover more ground than PP can. and Julio Jones would have NEVER got 11 catches against Deion like PP gave up last year. Plus he is/was a far superior return man. Need I go on????

I just remember watching him play at Atlanta and noticing how often there seemed to be guys wide open in his area of the field while he was chasing somebody with another DB covering them or into another DBs zone. And I watched Eric Martin get wide open over and over on him. Sure, Deion would close again with incredible quickness, but Martin would already have the catch.

Deion Sanders played 9 games against the Saints while he was with the Falcons.

Eric Martin caught exactly 1 TD pass in those 9 games, and that was a 6 yarder. I dont know who was covering him on that play, but for argument's sake, let's just assume it was Sanders

I do know that in the other 134 games Eric Martin played for the Saints, he caught 47 TD passes, which is roughly 1 TD pass every 3 games

Against the Falcons and Sanders, Eric martin caught a TD once every 9 games

I believe I also said the "other side" shouldn't give pp7 any titles without him being in the NFL a few years. The guy is good but he's a junior in college. This whole thread is mute and anyone arguing either side is the dumb arse.... frickin dumb arse.

Neon Deion is the GREATEST corner of all time!

PRIME TIME!!!

WHAT! You all need to go and check yourselves into a mental facility. Revias and Baily are both better corners than him.
In order to be the greatest you have to tackle. Sanders was a pussy. He "made a business" decision when it came to tackling. As far as him not getting challenged, go watch the 49's do it. saw it on a regular basis.

Go watch how many the 49's made on his arse and come back and see me. Because he wasn't physical, he was regularly thrown at. maybe there were picks and other types of situations, but he was thrown at. Sorry, Deion was a great corner, but certainly not the greatest. he NEVER TACKLED! He "made a business decision" as he would put it. Can't be the greatest if you are not a complete football player.

Do you deny the evolution of sports? You seriously think magic Johnson would be elite in the league now?
