If not already will he become a better all-around defensive player?

no, not even close right now.

who knows what the future holds, but LaRon Landry is the best defensive player I have ever seen play at LSU, and he played a position where he could have more of an impact on the game.

Way too early! But i dont know if PP has the hardnose that Laron had, but probably a smarter player.

too much time and space until that day comes to fruition! why make such a silly assumption?

we're comparing apples to oranges here. peterson is a shutdown corner that could probably cover most nfl wideouts right now. laron is a head hunter that is out for blood.

Can't compare them. They are two different positions. Offenses can avoid Peterson, but they couldn't avoid Landry.

better pro, maybe, 6'2 corners with his speed are pretty special and like laron i think he's a top 10pick.

but to say laron isnt/wasn't as special as pp is false.

While Patrick Peterson is phenomenal, he's not at LaRon's level yet. Different positions, though. LaRon is a monster, though, so it's hard to compare him to anyone.

PP is already playing at a much higher level than LaRon was in college.

I've always thought that LaRon was one of LSU's most overrated players.

This seems to be a common occurrence among LSU's safeties (see Chad Jones).

Well, he was absolutely awesome as a freshman in '03 when he was doing all those crazy blitzes and playing with discipline. Then in later years, he just started doing whatever he felt like on the field. It made the fans love him, but it hurt the team.

I don't understand why one has to be better than another? They play two totally different positions with different type of assignments. They are both great in their own right.
