With all due respect to P.P., Deion Sanders is the best DB in the history of the sport.

Peterson may start out as a CB in the pros, but his best position will be FS and he might turn out to be the best at that postion.

This is interesting.

He is the best player in college football this year no doubt

Now that you mention it, that might be a legit argument.

And he was a redshirt freshman that year I believe

That's not saying much. He's prob goes undrafted.

I could see him replacing contributing in a scheme like the Houston scheme though

He was great, no doubt, but I just can't overlook his atrocious tackling skills.

I would agree with you, but I still remember Deion Sanders.

I think the 2 are comparable, but I'd give the edge to Sanders right now.

You are obviously young.

PP, while pretty good, and maybe great before it's over is not even the "best tiger player I've ever seen"

Stop with the want to see the "greatest ever" crap...it's childish.

In his prime time, Sanders rarely got help from a safety.

By playing on an island against each team's #1 WR, he allowed the safties to make the sacks and tackles.

Old people never, ever admit a current player is the best ever.

never

On another note, Peterson is awesome, but he has a lot of plays to make to be in the best ever category. His book isnt close to being written yet.

Ok people, i know you all are going to bash me and PP is the man in college football, maybe even the best player ever to come out of LSU, but did you all see darrelle revis' stats last year??? No CB in the history of the NFL has shut down WR's like that before! Even last week he blanketed the WR's sooo badly the QB wouldn't even throw his way. Plus he can tackle! All i am saying is you better throw him in the mix when comparing CB's.

I'm afraid Peterson eclipses Sanders.

They are about equal in athleticism and DB play, but Peterson is head and shoulders above Sanders in physical play.

Peterson plays the run and hits. Sanders never did.

PP7 washed his hands and the soil from his fingertips sprouted enough food to feed China.

SOme of you are just getting a little carried away. I think i just read a few minutes ago that he was the best football player that ever lived

i will settle with the best defensive player in college this year.

you can't really compare him to someone like mark ingram. To say one is better then the other is just a matter of opinion.

.

So you never saw Tommy Casanova play? I did the stupidest thing ever that a person could do. I looked down an ex-All American linebacker mano a mano. His eyes bugged out of his head at the thought of hitting someone went through his mind. He hit me like a brick wall at thirty MPH. His name, Mike Anderson, I was an employee of his thirty years ago. As a result I could have told him F'you, and it would have rolled off his back.

I could be wrong, but I believe Pete Carrol saw him at some camp and claimed he was easily the best football player he had seen in a decade.

It was steve sarkisian at the rising stars camp. He dominated at the event. the coaches were raving about him

The more I think about it, the more I think that he's probably the best player I've ever seen.
Yes, and he's also the best player to have ever played the game, college, high school or pro and that includes the last 100 years. He's better than every player before him that has been inducted into the hall of fame after playing football for 20+ years, and he's better than every Heismann winner before him in the history of the Heismann trophy.
