This is Forde’s M.O. That POS did the exact same thing with the Ole Miss scandal. He sat on a story and released it at the worst possible time for the university every time. Just how the guy operates, nothing to be surprised with.

I didn’t claim to be a reporter A-hole. Just had box seats given to me by a vendor. There were some high rollers (not me) who are well connected to the SEC in the box.

Pat Forde of yahoo knew this story and sat on it until the right time?
Ran into a guy at the SEC tourney last night who said this was done to intentionally harm LSU. Only part of the tape has been heard but WW cannot talk about it right now due to the FBI involved trial.
WW is not as guilty of wrong doing as he looks in the public right now. Said just wait and see..... He sure seemed to be in the know. Who knows??

I’ll take a guess and say one of the schools that didn’t get 1st place made a move to get this ball rolling at this time.
Best guess UK

Of course he did. His job is to get people to read his articles. March is the biggest month on the college basketball calendar. It's when the national attention turns to the sport. You wouldn't want to release a story on CBB in August when no on is paying attention. Likewise, you wouldn't want to release a big story about college football in May.
It's not a coincidence that the big relases have come in October (on the eve of the start of the season) and late-Feb/early March (when the nation is captivated by college basketball)
This isn't a coordinated effort to simply "kill LSU's chances of winning big in March." It's an effort to get the most views from the public. That's all journalist care about. So you bozos who tweet/email these guys simply give them the reaction they are desperately hoping for.

What does the Southeastern Conference (4) have to say about the potential for ACC seeding hegemony? Plenty. As of now, the fourth No. 1 is either Kentucky or Tennessee, depending which homecourt blowout of the other gets more weight. (It should be Kentucky's. See the Travis information above.) But as with the ACC, there is a third team in the mix — LSU (24-5, 14-2) is two wins away from claiming at least a share of the league title and the No. 1 tourney seed, since it owns the tiebreaker over both Kentucky and Tennessee.
The Tigers' overall résumé doesn't stack up to that of the Wildcats or Volunteers — but if they win both SEC titles, that would necessitate a re-examination.
(One potential drawback to an LSU No. 1 seed: A big part of the March discussion of the Tigers will include coach Will Wade being subpoenaed to appear at the April trial in the federal corruption investigation, not to mention the famous "shut the door" wiretap transcript of Wade.)
This article was released by Forde on March 4th. His "Smart" article was released on March 7th. Up until that point, the Wade subpoena was essentially a nonstory so you can make an easy assumption that Forde was sitting on this "bombshell". LINK to article
He also tweeted this during the Florida game the night before the article release.
quote:
Little-known SEC bylaw: LSU is exempt from beingcalled for goaltending.
to which both Michael Bonnette and Chris Blair both responded.
I don't think Kentucky would be behind this because weren't they the ones that could be assumed to be in a bidding war with Smart?
Rick Barnes on the other hand...
