Ran into a guy at the SEC tourney last night who said this was done to intentionally harm LSU. Only part of the tape has been heard but WW cannot talk about it right now due to the FBI involved trial.

WW is not as guilty of wrong doing as he looks in the public right now. Said just wait and see..... He sure seemed to be in the know. Who knows??

The NCAA and the FBI have known what was on the tape for nearly 2 years, they have heard nothing they didn't already know. If LSU wasn't playing so well and where they are, the story wouldn't have the same impact. I mean, Louisville, NC STATE and Kansas are all mentioned in the indictment. So where is the story on them? No details have been leaked about them. Why? I can only speculate but I'd say there will be more indictments concerning them and any info leaked would be grounds for mistrial. The fact Wade cannot comment on the FBI tapes tells me he isn't protecting himself from what's on the tapes, sounds like he is protecting himself from being guilty of leaking sensitive information he has been told to keep confidential. There is something else going on here that we don't know about. Something the media and the public are not aware of. Anybody that doesn't believe the FBI has already talked to Wade about this investigation is ignorant. There's no doubt they talked to him. He was involved to some degree with this case, but wasn't indicted because, as he said, "I've never done business with Christian Dawkins." And I'd be inclined to believe when he talked to the FBI they told him not to speak to anyone concerning what he knows about the wiretaps and this case. We will know everything after April, and I doubt very seriously we will discover anything close to what the media is saying.

This makes total sense and is what I’ve said front he beginning. Joe Alleva and Mr. King are smart. Will Wade has a contract with LSU that includes a $9M buyout.
If WW says something that gives them cause to fire him he loses that, so:

A). He’s been told by the FBI to stay quiet about what he knows, and

B). His attorney said to say nothing to nobody to jeopardize his personal criminal and financial liability.

I’m thinking that’s pretty good advice since anything he says to anybody can be both subpoenaed and also would be used against if, BUT

He’s not the person they’re after. He’s been called to testify by the defense attorney as I understand it. Am I wrong on any of this?

We at TD use to be so good at acquiring people's personal phone numbers and spaming the shite out of them.

I hope that if all this pans out in WW's favor that all of the LSU higher ups get what they deserve for mishandling this to the max. If he leaves us after he is vindicated I hope he sues the crap out of each administrator personally that had a hand in this....heads need to roll. For God's sake how do our administrators explain the difference between LSU and Kansas in how this is being handled right now, today?

You "ran into some guy" and he " seemed to be in the know". Now that is the type of reliable crack reporting we need around here. Woodward and Berstein are shaking in their boots.

Don’t worry about Kansas, Arizona and UNC. Yahoo has held their articles until some key high impact moment in the tournament.

I doubt they sat on it out of any dislike for LSU. They may have waited on some confirmation, but I bet they rushed to publish as soon as they thought they had a story and enough support to avoid legal trouble.

Reporters rush to publish a scoop because they are worried sick that another media outlet will beat them to the punch. If they got the leak, then someone else probably did too.

I hate posts like this but this is what I believe as well at this point, based on the fact that LSU has not fired Wade.

Also, look at Forde's history of reporting on LSU going back to our success in football as early as 2003. Forde was one of those media aholes back in the day that gleefully pushed the whole "USC is the real champ" crap back in 2003. He has never been a fan of anything related to LSU.

This is what happens when your college program doesn't cater to a big market.

Exactly! I ran into a guy after the VANDY game saying this was really bad and we are going to burn to the ground! Had a really good parking pass and great tickets and thought “oh man this might be true” but after the past week, I realized if he was right it would have blown up by now. Are they going to wait till LSU wins a natty to blow it up? No! And I think a lot of this has to do with personal wants! A republican isn’t going to back a democrat or vise versa when they know their party is on the ropes. Throw mud and pray something sticks!

For all any of us know Wade could be working for the FBI.

Not saying this is the case. Guess if anything I'm saying I think you're right that there is a major component missing in all this.

You are probably on the right track in terms of timing.

If you go read up on Kansas and Self, most of that transpired two weeks before the season when details of the trial went public. Kansas was able to “investigate” it without having to suspend anyone, plus Self outright denied it and met with his superiors. He also wasn’t about to be subpoenaed

KU has held out Silvio De Sousa all year, even before the NCAA ruled him ineligible for two years. Not sure why Townsend was never suspended or put on leave, except to continue the idea that the university was the victim in the Adidas situation.

I know they had talked about the wire tap for Will Wade back in October as well, but I don't know how much of the conversation was released to the press. If anything, this might have been the timing of the defense team knowing it would be national news when LSU was reaching their peak.

And apparently the quotes in the wire tap tapes in the Pat Forde article were selectively chosen to cause the most damage. All exculpatory quotes were left out.

This is why you don't knee jerk react to the jackass reporters with an agenda.
