I've seen several people reference this as Protestant. I've never heard of a Protestant church that believes in the prosperity gospel. Maybe some cult-style mega churches? I thought it was only Tele-evangelists that were trying to bilk money out of poor people.

If “God’s favor” is the reason they won and why things happen, that implies the pastor is definitely out of God’s favor by having his kids die.
Should you believe you are in God’s favor because your plan landed safely Saturday? Damn near all of us would be offended by someone saying that Saturday.

Things happen. God doesn’t care who wins. I am a Christian and I believe He gives us strength to handle what life throws at us. Yes, nonbelievers don’t agree with that last sentence.
